The Hebrew word for ‘word’ is DABAR is a verb meaning to formalize or to deliberately establish and pronounce something's name or definition. This causes the thing to become "real" in the mind of whoever understands this word, name or definition, and this in turn explains why all of creation was spoken into being. DABAR-YAHWEH first appears to Abram in Genesis 15  “the word of the LORD came to Abram.” No one can come to the Father except through Jesus(John 14:6), who is the DABAR-YAHWEH in the Old Testament. The Word of Yahweh is fully revealed in the person of Jesus. Samuel could not know Yahweh unless the Word was shown to him. “The word of the LORD came” is a defining Biblical statement from a God who reveals Himself and expresses a deed to be accomplished. Young Samuel did not realize the voice of Yahweh because the Dabar-Yahweh(The Word of the LORD) was not yet revealed to him.“Now Samuel did not yet know Yawheh, and the word of Yahweh(Dabar-Yahweh) had not yet been revealed to him”(1 Samuel 3:7 WEB).
