You're sending me a clip of a referee in a bloody club u15 match being hit by a spectator and you're linking it to me saying we should be allowed to have a grown-up conversation about how referee mistakes shouldn't be ignored in discussion about games. I have to tell you, I'm not easily rattled but that's just ridiculous and maddening that you'd in any way associate me or what I said to what a scumbag did, and sending me the clip as if it's something I contribute to is sickening

That's an unbelievably unfair leap to make. Do you think this is the first time I've seen a scumbag attacking a ref, and I never thought of that before? I'm talking about how we shouldn't pretend like referee mistakes aren't sometimes the story of a match. A quick glance at your profile, you criticise Sam Prendergast. Do you think if a scumbag now hits Sam Prendergast because he's unhappy with his performance that that's in any way related to your comments?

@ConanDoherty @Sean_LUHG Tyrone were wasteful in the first half hitting 7 wides. Referees can affect the flow but the sole blame doesn’t fall on their door specifically

I wasn’t trying to insinuate that your comments (or my comments regarding Sam Prendergast) would lead to an assault of refs or that player. I am just saying just to be a bit careful. The GAA are trying and failing to get more refs

@ConanDoherty @Sean_LUHG I’m a fan of the pods but just saying to be careful when you say the abuse refs get is part of the territory. Unfortunately the incident in the video here isn’t an isolated incident with GAA officials especially
