Pure software is being commoditized. When tools become easy to build, margins shrink. The leverage shifts to: • Distribution → owned audience and brand • Proprietary data → insights others cannot copy • Community → loyalty beyond features • Monetization model → recurring, high retention Software alone is replaceable. Ecosystems are not. Build product + distribution + trust. That is what attracts capital and sustains income.
