@EdPlowden @bristolgreen After the cabinets decision and behaviour around allotment rents. I have been totally shocked by the lack of any kind of democracy. As a life long labour voter the greens now have my vote

When the Cabinet is replaced and @bristolgreen have influence we will work to restore faith in Bristol’s democracy, consult properly, show respect to those that make the effort to come to City Hall and devolve more power so decisions are made nearer the neighbourhoods affected

I’m beyond disappointed. The reality is many of us can’t afford an extra coffee a week. Many of us are growing for those who can’t access decent food, let alone posh coffee. @BrisAllotResist

On other allotment news @CllrEllieking of @bristolcouncil has just described Bristol allotment holders as “just private food growers” in “gated communities”. And the increase in rents as “only the price of a coffee once a week”. In a full cabinet meeting.

@Funkinsteins @Glutenfreescone @bristol_citizen I’v never had an allotment, but know people who have and it’s much more than growing food. Why attack what is a socially important part of our lives. The council looks for easy targets but the money raised is just a drop in the ocean compared to what they have wasted. I’v signed.

@paulmizen1 @Glutenfreescone @bristol_citizen They have decided to allow only 3 fruit trees per plot and they have to be dwarf root stock . There are many other ill thought out items in the proposal. Have a read of the petition there is a link to respond to the council proposal and a full run down of the intended plans
