@The_Drop_Fox I'll talk to people if they are friendly. But it's only nice in the mornings. I find people tend to be more cranky closer to lunch and afternoons. I don't get a lot of opportunities to talk to people due to my job and responsibilities so it's nice to chat.

@ekcollapse @CeraGibson I specifically go to Walmart between 8am and 10am. It's just much more pleasant. The only problem is curbside is so popular now that the inventory is sold out because all the workers picked clean the isles. But at least it's quite and no lines/queues.

I don’t think people were meant to be bombarded with so much stimulus all the time. A grocery store with carts rattling, and the worst top 40 songs from the last 25 years blaring, all while bathed in fluorescent light, is a very unpleasant environment. If people need to listen to a playlist or a podcast to get through it without raising their blood pressure, I think that’s fine.

@ADHDForReal I remember my dad slapped a pizza right out of my face so hard I fell over and the pizza flew across the table while we watched a movie and yelled, "Stop Smacking!" I have wondered if that contributed to my now misophonia. Though, I am not at all aggressive. Just annoyed.

@King_Sukunaaa We had a house like this in town. Was a nice place owned by a local business owner who passed decades ago. It was nearly a garden forest with an old style home sandwiched between strip malls. They tore it down last year and built a stupid car wash.

@s8n I remember Black Friday sales at Staples when you could get a hundred pack at actual heavy discounted prices. It made showing up at 4am totally worth. Plus, black friday wasn't popular yet so it was just a few nerds about buying cheap HDDs and CD-Rs/DVD-Rs.

@16bitnostalgia I am biased. I had a Sega Channel for like 3 years and ended up playing nearly every Sega Genesis game. SNES definitely did RPGs better. But I love that genesis sound. So crisp and punchy. Both are great but Genesis wins for me due to playing most of the library.

@mask_bastard I really liked the His Dark Materials series, but The Golden Compass movie was garbage. About 20 minutes into the movie I turned it off. I generally am not a "the book was better" guy but this one just missed all the good parts of the books.

@HumansNoContext I'm perfectly fine with having all my bills paid with no debts while also have enough to save up so I could survive without my job for at least a year without giving up anything. It can take so long to get here though. I'm 40s now.
