Just realized something that honestly made me stop for a second… $2,000 rent a month. That’s $24,000 a year. Stay there 5 years… that’s $120,000. Gone. No ownership. No asset. Nothing to show for it. Just paid to exist somewhere. That’s actually insane when you really think about it.

Thread is interesting bc of people arguing about whether Gaussian splats are "AI" or not (implied: is it bad / should I boycott it?). Really shows the problems of using "AI" to refer to such a heterogeneous collection of technologies.

I cook at home 90% of the time. Why? Because Amazon delivers Whole Foods Market to my doorstep. High-quality food at the click of a button. I no longer meal plan. Whatever I want to eat that day, I order by 11 a.m., and it’s at my doorstep by 5 p.m., ready to cook. It’s the little things that matter.

Amazon needs to add a “Made in USA” filter. Actual, verified “Made in USA” products. They won’t because it would quickly illuminate the fact that they’re primarily a Chinese goods marketplace. But it would be good for consumers and American businesses
