In Italy those responsible for 43 people dying because of their actions are sent to prison. Not one arrest has been made following Grenfell, Hillsborough, Blood Scandal, Postmaster Horizon scandal, soldiers exposure to radiation scandal, PPE and care home scandal. We are told Italy has a Mafia problem.

In August 2018, 43 people were killed when the Morandi bridge in the Italian city of Genoa collapsed during a rainstorm. Today, 32 people were sentenced to prison over the incident, including the former CEO of Italy’s main highway operator who received 12 years.

Ex-wife of ICE officer who shot and killed Joan Sebastian Guerrera:
I was completely shocked by his job with ICE because I'm like, 'how do you keep getting into these jobs where you're around guns all the time?' He told me all I needed to know was that it was a justified shooting. He's like, 'I need you to lie about my character because this is what it comes down to. I don't want you talking about any of the abuse in our relationship.' I need to come out because a man lost his life. It was abuse to me and our daughter. I've dealt with harassing phone calls and threats of him wanting to kill me. I believe that this man was murdered.

@capybaroness Not only did it take a long time for this trailer to get released, and with no news since, but the trailer itself was a turn off for a lot of fans as it completely changed the atmosphere of the original. A waste of time through and through.
English

there is nothing like this game in the annals of Never Coming Out history. when this trailer released people were astonished that the game was finally ready to show something after 14 years. that was NINE years ago. it's taken so long to come out that the original director DIED.

Beyond Good & Evil 2 was first announced in 2008 and still hasn’t been released. Ubisoft is still expanding the team working on the game. It’s now one of the longest-running game development projects in video game history! 🤯 Who else has been waiting for BGE2 for nearly two decades? 👀

A list of people who have sued or threatened to sue Amnesty International:
Hissène Habré - convicted of crimes against humanity
Jean-Claude Duvalier - accused of crimes against humanity
Muammar Gaddafi - accused of human rights abuses on a mass scale
Slobodan Milošević - on trial for war crimes when he died
Charles Taylor - convicted for abetting war crimes
JK Rowling
It’s hard to sue Amnesty and walk away looking like one of the good ones…

Today I discovered what happens when you’re too disabled to fit the system, but not disabled in quite the right way.
I learned that the NHS doesn’t always fail because people don’t care, it fails because the system is so obsessed with ticking boxes that it forgets there’s an actual human being standing in front of it. Or in my case… lying down.
After six days in hospital with a sepsis infection and an adrenal crisis, I was finally able to be discharged.
Patient Transport was called, but to my absolute shock, they refused to take me home because I have occasionally had access to a vehicle when a carer is available to drive.
TODAY, I have neither.
No vehicle. No carer. No family who can drive it, No friends available…. AND a specialist tilted wheelchair that won’t fit into even an accessible cab. Black cabs? NOPE. Still don’t fit. No room to manoeuvre into a rear face position… and cabbies simply won’t pick me up. safety first.
I explained that to the ward manager.
Then explained it again.
And again.
Each time I was met with the same question:
“Can’t you get someone to collect you?”
No.
The solution was, to discharge me anyway, knowing I don’t have any means to get home.
None.
And so, I was taken down to the discharge lounge… the lounge which is available for patients waiting for Patient Transport.
The very Patient Transport I’d already been told wasn’t available today as there’s ZERO capacity and a backlog of days worth of patients trying to get home.
I asked the obvious… “What happens when the lounge closes, and I still have no way of getting home?”
“Someone will deal with that then.”
No plan.
No solution.
Just… computer says no…
Somewhere we’ve replaced compassion with flow charts, and clinical judgement with algorithms.
If you don’t fit neatly into the system’s boxes, the system doesn’t adapt. It simply decides that you are the problem. That’s exactly how I felt today. An awkward inconvenience.
I’m not a difficult patient.
I’m a disabled woman who doesn’t fit your spreadsheet.
There’s a difference!
To be continued….

@Irishgirlbragh_ Well, her and author John Boyne share the same anti-trans views, which have also boiled over to asexuals for some baffling reason. They’re also both Holocaust revisionists, which is a weird connection. And JKR has the segregationist analogy thrown at her a lot, which she hates.
English

I think I've worked it out.
JKR's response is a sarcastic retort at the people she's hurt by her tweets.
The original reply was someone who doesn’t understand why and doesn't want asexuals in the same 'category' as gay people because asexual people 'don't like sex', which isn't remotely true.
It's not that asexual people 'don't like sex', a lot of asexual people don't experience sexual attraction in the first place. The LGBTQIA+ community is not a category, it is an umbrella which has grown bigger over time and enabled more people to stand under it.
English

Someone help me work out what the JKR's reply is about. It's 4am and I can't wrap my head around it.
Is she saying that refusing to accept asexual people (who don't 'not like sex'), as part of the 'gay category' (there is no gay category - she means lgbtqia+ community?) is akin to segregation? What does segregation have to do with asexual people? Or she's making fun of asexual people
Considering she labelled Asexuality Day as fake oppression day, she wouldn't be defending ace people, right?
This is the tweet she replied to.

My dad threw my ds out a 2nd story window as a kid, completely destroying it, bc I wasn’t getting ready fast enough
I didn’t learn to be more time efficient from it, I just cried a lot and got really uneasy whenever he picked up my things after that.
Don’t do this to your kids.

Count Binface belongs to a proud British tradition – much longer and prouder than any British tradition Nigel Farage can claim to represent – of candidates who exist solely to allow the electorate to express how inadequate they find the other options. Rather than not voting, or voting for someone they don’t actually believe should hold power, the people can send a message that they consider the other candidates so insufficient as representatives that they would rather vote for a man with a bin on his head.
We must unite behind Count Binface, writes @willydunn: newstatesman.com/politics/uk-po…

@Lucas_Shaw I wonder how many people are included in these figures who simply didn’t like season 1.
I remember watching season 1 of The Witcher and not getting into it, so of course I skipped subsequent seasons. The same is true for a few of their anime series.
