@mattjay I still don't understand why people started using their real names on the internet, especially if they care about privacy. It's not like the "cloud" and centralization removed all the problems.

@_JohnHammond I wish people would stop calling it supply chain attacks. Real supply chains have contracts, SLAs, vetted suppliers, and procurement controls. What's happening is people are downloading and running untrusted 3rd party code, then acting surprised when it bites them.

Annoying. I'm already verified in the Cyber Verification Program with @AnthropicAI and i'm working on some defensive tooling, not even doing vulnerability research.

@osgo @ImposeCost WU operates inside the regulated financial system, aka KYC'd, traceable and reversible. Crypto is pseudonymous and final. A kinetic strike on Russia or North Korea actors means war. "airstrike the scammers" is not a serious foreign policy. Banning crypto just needs a bill.

@FuzzVector @ImposeCost Scammers used to use Western Union. Their take wouldn't be as much today, but they'd find a way, especially in SWIFT-soft countries. A Kinetic reprecussion, swift and sure - would help. Especially against people who target hospitals or older folks.

There's enough money involved that if people would stop being soft, the right talent would go largely solve the ransomware problem.

Introducing the LARGEST game database in history with over 31 BILLION chess games to learn from! 🤯 You can now study every move ever played by Chess.com members, including how many are blundering Scholar's Mate, and whether the BongCloud is actually useful!

Seeing a lot of comments complaining that I didn't engage with the drama baiting questions on my Reddit AMA, instead focusing on Endgame, my chess career, training regimen, and thoughts on my future. It's time to rise above the drama and focus on performing at the highest level. There is no such thing as vengeance, only individual success!

@EndgameaiChess @TylerJones94228 @HansMokeNiemann This is a perfect example of open source software being applicable, it's possible to create in-depth anti-cheat software that is both non-invasive and verifiable. Security through obscurity is a falsehood, and every platform should function with the same level of integrity.

Endgame AI
Endgame AI@EndgameaiChess·
Yes — we combine strong internal detection systems with independent external Fair Play oversight to protect the integrity of our events. For high-signal cases, we invite players to play under live Zoom supervision instead of using invasive proctoring tools. It takes more time and effort on our end, but we believe it’s the right way to do it. We’ve seen proctoring software (chessmafia’s) cause connection issues, disconnect players mid-game, and even create long term damage on the user’s device. We’d rather invest in a better process than push a cheap, user-hostile bandaid on our community. ♟️ We’re always open to feedback and prioritize hearing the voices of our users. Feel free to DM us anytime for feedback/suggestions! We hope to see you in the Endgame.

@HansMokeNiemann If you decompile the binaries, it's pretty rudimentary under the hood, and it would be fairly trivial for anyone motivated and with moderate technical skills to bypass its monitoring.

@DanielRensch You should cite the author, otherwise you're plagiarizing. To save you some time, it was Alan Watts who said that, so now you can update it with proper attribution.

I am so incredibly tired of hearing about AI Everytime I look up anything cybersecurity related it's all a big ass fuck off circus discussing AI It's not even like, an explanation on AI, or some sort of deep dive, or nuanced perspective. It's all superficial and more akin to a sales pitch than an actual discussion topic. O gracious Lord, if Thou hearest me, pray let this great uproar be stilled.

Overhearing my 10yrold daughter tell her friend about my job: “He does chess. Well, kinda. It’s a lot of drama. Like, you’d think ‘it’s chess, it’s boring’ but it’s kinda more like a reality tv show.” 🤣🤣🤣
