Note how she says "Could" pay for etc. - Because it'll never be used for anything like that, instead it'll, as per usual, disappear into the pockets of all the NGO chains that just so happen to end up funding Fauxcahontas and her compatriots. Again. This is just DOGE Revenge.

Today, I'm introducing my wealth tax — and more than 50 members of Congress are joining me. It’s time for the government to start working for American families, not just the ultra-rich.

Mormon Women for Ethical Government (@mormonweg) is quite upset that I dedicated a presentation to them to a Utahn Republican Women's group. They called it "absolutely false." I don't know what they are alleging is false, like Bill Kristol is among their biggest donors (as @labtechleigh found), or that their co-executive director Jen Thomas represents MWEG in a meeting series as part of a fractal ecosystem to transform America's governance. But in the spirit of last year's thread on @CODEPINK , I will do a 100% factual, zero opinion, receipt-based thread on MWEG to clear the air. As MWEG said - "be kind, but be direct." 💕💕💕💕

You may recall that, a few days ago, systemd added in a piece of functionally to be used in relation to Age Verification. That code change was submitted by a developer named Dylan Taylor. Dylan also submitted similar proposed code changes to Ubuntu and Arch Linux. There was an immediate reaction to these proposals. Conspiracy theories began flying (“Did he make these changes for the government?”, “What organization is behind this?”), and the personal attacks quickly followed (including threats of violence). Now, as you may be aware, I am no fan of adding Age Verification to Operating Systems. I consider it to be, to put it mildly, a terrible idea. But what were this developer’s *actual* motivations for adding this specific functionality, in this specific way, to systemd (among others)? After speaking with Dylan, it became clear that he was attempting to find a way to meet the requirements of the law in, what he saw as, the least horrible way possible. Dylan: “It exists purely to help Linux distributions meet the "letter of the law" in specific jurisdictions by providing a way to store a self-reported birthdate locally on the machine. You can enter any value here, even January 1st, 1900. There is no proof required, no ID scanning, and no external tracking.” Personally, I think even this limited data collection goes too far. But Dylan is not alone in considering this approach. Several major Linux distributions are currently considering similar solutions to complying with the Age Verification laws: collect a user supplied “birthdate”, using the honor system (with no additional verification), and hope that is enough to satisfy lawmakers. This is how Dylan explains why he went with this approach: Dylan: “The CA/CO laws will do probably nothing of value for children using Linux, and nobody is claiming otherwise, but the fact of the matter is that not doing something to meet the requirements will hurt the ability for system integrators and commercial enterprises to continue to contribute to free and open source software and ship it on new devices. I don't think anybody would benefit from that.” While I see adding this functionality at the system level as a massive mistake, as it will undoubtedly be expanded to facilitate further Age/ID Verification and privacy intrusion down the road, I can understand the logic. This is a debate that is currently being had in many projects and corporations. With wildly varying approaches already being decided upon. With all of the conspiracy theories being floated around, I asked Dylan if anyone paid him to submit these code changes, or if he did it on behalf of any government agency (as some corners of the Internet have suggested). Dylan: “The answer to both questions is obviously no. Any CS undergrad could have written that PR. They didn't NEED to pay someone with a degree in software engineering to do it. It's adding an additional field to a database with PII in it already.” Oh. And I noted some people attacked Dylan while calling him a “Jew” (in very *ahem* colorful ways). So, as ridiculous as it seems, I asked him about that, too. No. He’s not Jewish. He was raised Catholic. Dylan: “Either way, I find the religious attacks disgusting.”

Take yourself back, friends. Take yourself back to Limbaugh at his prime. It's the Dittohead Decade, and Rush is blistering the Clinton Administration hour by hour. Then Rush does something remarkable. He tells you that the communist Chinese are someone we should partner with. That the men who hijacked TWA 847 were in fact the good guys. That the Russia of Yanayev represented a missed opportunity; a solid alternative to the post-Cold War corruption of the American elite. He says it all with a completely straight face. Do you conclude he's lost his mind? Do you wonder whether it's a joke? Or do you bob your head enthusiastically, thinking, "Well, of course! Every American patriot believes these things!"

RE: Data Republican I am a huge Data Republican (small r) (“DR”) fan. I know many of you are as well. But I’m not sure everyone fully understands the sheer bravery, brilliance and audacity of this deaf every-woman. You see, the government you elect is not what actually governs you. For every area of government (no matter how specialized or arcane), there are powerful lobbying groups, think-tanks, non-governmental organizations ("NGOs"), specialized media outlets, university-sponsored centers and other ostensibly "independent" organizations that act and behave as an unaccountable form of government outside the reaches of the electoral process. While these organizations claim to act in the public interest, each and everyone of them is a self-serving oligarchy that is designed solely to promote the interests of those on the inside--genuine public interest be damned. This is America of course, and freedom of speech and freedom of association are fundamental to our freedoms. However, over many decades, these organizations have found “legal” ways to obtain trillions of your taxpayer dollars in the form of “grants” for “studies,” “policy symposiums” and all manner of other taxpayer-funded activities designed specifically to circumvent the policies the American people VOTED FOR and to perpetuate policies and activities that the average American has explicitly rejected. These activities occur on both the Left and the Right, of course, but over time they have become the near exclusive domain of the Left. These organizations serve as taxpayer/Soros-funded, income-generating activities for Leftists whenever they are out of power, and if/when Leftists seize control of the Presidency or Congress, these organizations are the proverbial bullpens from which powerful Leftists full of the ideas you thought you once eliminated can storm right back into the actual process of governance, implementing all of those dark and mysterious policies that your tax dollars were secretly funding while the Leftists were otherwise off howling in the wilderness. Call it the Deep State. Call it unconstitutional. Call it theft of your hard-earned taxpayer dollars. Call it the evil of the Soros family. Call it what ever you will, but know this—it is a monstrous Leviathan sitting right outside the scope of your votes, dedicated to negating your votes at your own expense, in the most diabolical manner possible. It is the state outside the state. It is self-serving. It does not care about you. It only cares about itself. And its power is VAST. You see it right here on X—you see the swarms of fire ants that come spilling out with destruction in mind whenever anyone uncovers the anthill they are lurking under. And right at the heart of that is our hero, DR. I have been actively following politics virtually my entire life, and never before has there been anyone quite like DR. Through dispassionate data analysis, the smart use of AI and a relentless drive for fairness and justice, DR has done more to shine a light on the nature of this extra-governmental Leviathan than any other person I can ever recall. For her efforts, she has been doxxed by a mendacious Rolling Stone article. She has endured a concerted effort to destroy her husband’s totally unrelated business. She and her husband have received LITERALLY THOUSANDS of death threats. She and her family had to go into hiding. An ordinary woman would have backed down in fear. But not DR. They just made her mad. And an angry genius is an enemy no one wants to face. She still stares them down, day in and day out. Her book will be out soon. Buy it. Buy copies for your friends. Buy copies and leave them on street corners and airport tables. AMERICANS NEED TO KNOW THE TRUTH. DR’s book may well end up being the most important and influential American book on politics since “Common Sense." If America is going to survive, we must ALL shine a bright light on this extra-governmental Leviathan, grab a hold of its fangs, and drain the venom out of them. This is not playtime people. This is life and death. We glorify the warrior who does great deeds on the battlefield, as we should. But know that bravery comes in many forms, and as DR has stood in the fire and endured real threats to her life and existence, her audacious bravery is every bit as real as those heroes we see being decorated by the President. Right now, in the USA, no unelected person is doing more to ensure freedom than Data Republican. You can support her by subscribing to her account, but you can also support her by being as brave as she is. I aspire to maybe show such bravery myself some day. We all should aspire to that. One day she will earn the Presidential Medal of Freedom. Together we can defeat The Beast.

"I accept that Jesus created the Universe out of nothing in seven days, flooded the whole planet, appeared in a burning bush, parted the Red Sea, rained bread from heaven, made a donkey talk, trapped a guy inside a fish, turned water to wine, healed the sick, raised corpses to life, conquered sin and death forever, and sits enthroned as King of all Creation. "But there's no way He could have ever made Himself known to anyone outside ancient Israel. That's just too farfetched!"

Who are the moral people? The ones whose positions (on anything) are demonstrated far more with actions than with words, whose statements and choices don't shift with (perceived) public opinion, and who are ultimately willing to pay a price. "No good deed goes unpunished!"

OpenMandriva Linux says they are currently considering multiple approaches to dealing with "stupid, dumb, and evil" Age Verification laws. Ranging from ignoring the laws entirely... to possibly having a separate "1984" edition only for "surveillance states" which require Age Verification. While OpenMandriva doesn't appear to be ready to announce their exact strategy, it does seem clear that their Linux distribution will not be implementing Age Verification for all users. I reached out to the project lead for OpenMandriva and this is what he said: "Obviously we don't like those laws at all, but at the same time, we don't want to punish people who had nothing to do with such idiocy for their governments' stupid, dumb and evil decisions."

"the Book of Mormon describes God as once being like man and progressing." Is that the chapter before or after Heavenly Mother gives birth to Satan, I can never remember...?
❄️ Winter Hail ❄️@Hail_Winter

Something I started noticing over time were differences between the Book of Mormon and the Bible that honestly made me stop and think The Bible teaches God is unchanging (Malachi 3:6) but the Book of Mormon describes God as once being like man and progressing. The Bible says salvation is by grace through faith (Ephesians 2:8–9) but the Book of Mormon says “after all we can do” which is saying works are part of it too. The Bible teaches there is one God (Isaiah 43:10) while LDS teachings include multiple gods and the idea that people can become gods. The Bible says Jesus’ sacrifice was once and for all (Hebrews 10:10) but LDS doctrine adds ordinances and requirements. And the Bible doesn’t really support ongoing new scripture the same way LDS teachings do Another thing that stood out to me is how much the Book of Mormon overlaps with the Bible. There are hundreds of verses that are really similar or even word for word from the King James Bible especially Isaiah and even parts like the Sermon on the Mount. Some estimates say around 20 to 30 percent of it uses biblical language or parallels. What made me pause is that it uses the same wording and even some of the same translation quirks from the King James Bible which was written in the 1600s And then there are the historical things I never really heard about growing up. The Book of Mormon talks about animals like horses and cattle in ancient America but there’s no solid evidence they were there at that time. It also mentions steel chariots and large civilizations but archaeology hasn’t really backed that up. DNA shows Native American ancestry tracing back to East Asia not the Middle East like the Book of Mormon suggests. And “Reformed Egyptian” isn’t something we have any record of existing Something else I started noticing is that there are even contradictions within the Book of Mormon itself and that honestly made me pause. Like in Jacob 2 it speaks strongly against polygamy but then leaves room for it if God commands it. It also says God invites everyone equally but then describes certain groups being cursed with dark skin. And there are moments where things just don’t fully line up whether it’s doctrine timelines or just details in the story. The Book of Mormon we have today isn’t exactly the same as the 1830 version. It has been updated multiple times like 1837 1840 1879 1920 and later with thousands of changes. There also isn’t just one clear account of how it was translated. Sometimes it’s described using the Urim and Thummim other times a seer stone in a hat and some say a mix of both. Different witnesses even describe it differently For me it wasn’t just one thing it was a pattern and I couldn’t ignore it. Learning all of this made me step back and really question it.
