Trying to inform patients about the lack of effectiveness and risks of many non-evidence-based ‘feel good’ treatments is often difficult, awkward, time consuming, and not well rewarded! Many patients don’t care and in some cases make complaints or write negative reviews about how you didnt ‘treat’ them! Its incredibly hard to be an evidence based physio whilst also trying to develop a good reputation and earn a reasonable living. My utmost respect and support to all of you still trying! 🫡

FIVE unpopular truths about physio! 1: All manual therapy is non specific 2: Dry needling is acupuncture trying to be ‘sciencey’ 3: K-tape is just a colourful hug 4: Corrective exercises are rest in disguise 5: Time and reassurance are the greatest ‘healers’

PHYSIOS… stop putting people off from exercising when they have pain by misrepresenting research like this… pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/37646368/ Yes, exercise is often seen not to outperform time which is usually the greatest healer/mediator in many painful MSK issues! And yes no one NEEDS to exercise anything to help with their painful issues! But exercise, if given sensibly and progressively, doesn’t harm or hurt either, so why not use it… its simple, cheap, healthy, and proactive, and has many other benefits? This kick back against exercise by some physios is getting utterly ridiculous and NEEDS to be quashed… immediately!

IOC President stated today: "Because we value the sport of boxing so much, we believe the boxers fully deserve to be governed by an international federation with integrity and transparency." Friends, @RealWorldBoxing will work tirelessly to be that IF. Let's do it together!
