Hey Obi... You asked if I understand what it means when Christ said He came to fulfill the law. The real question is whether you read the very next verses in that chapter, or if you stop where your pastor stops. Have you read Matthew 5:18 and 19? If you haven't, let me remind you of what Jesus (peace be upon him) said. Jesus warned that until heaven and earth disappear, not the smallest letter or stroke will disappear from the Law. He then said whoever breaks the least of these commandments and teaches others to do the same will be called least in the kingdom of heaven. The Greek word used for fulfill is "pleroo". It means to perfectly establish and complete its intent. It does not mean tossing the penal code away. Let me even pretend your modern interpretation is right. Let me assume "fulfill" meant the laws of the Old Testament regarding blasphemy were cancelled. If that is true, why did the Christian establishment execute blasphemers and heretics for 1,500 years after the crucifixion? At least, John Calvin is one of the greatest theologians in Christian history. He burned Michael Servetus at the stake for heresy in 1553. Thomas Aquinas is the pillar of Catholic philosophy. He explicitly argued, just like I said in my article yesterday, for the execution of heretics in his Summa Theologica. The entire European Christian civilization defended the honor of God with capital punishment for centuries. Were the founding fathers of your theology confused about what Jesus meant by "fulfill"? Did the Christian world miss the memo for fifteen centuries? The early church and the reformers understood that fulfilling the moral law meant defending the sacred. You only water it down today because you are desperately trying to force your religion to fit into modern secular liberalism. Go and study your own church history before you confidently tell people to delete their posts.

According to Islamic belief, the word days in the Qur’an does not really mean 24 hours that we are using today. It refers to periods or stages of time, the length of which is known only to Allah.

How do we know what happend and what Jesus and Satan said to each other in the wilderness word for word? Who was doing the recording?
