Deeply saddened by the demise of Mr. Amit Kushari, Retired IAS officer of the J&K cadre (1970 batch), who served the region with dedication for over three decades. He held several key positions and retired as Additional Chief Secretary (Financial Commissioner) of J&K, later serving as a Judge at the Central Administrative Tribunal. He always remained deeply connected to Kashmir and its people. My heartfelt condolences to his wife Mrs. Sheta Kushari, son Indivar Kushari, and daughter Shriya Kushari. May his soul rest in peace. @INCWestBengal

Mr. Home Minister, the issue for discussion is the unconstitutional and anti-democratic conduct of the Speaker, not whether LOP Sh. @RahulGandhi is in the house or not. And where is the Prime Minister when such a serious issue is being debated? Why has he deserted the House? Not only has he given this Session a miss, but also was absent on multiple critical occasions - including the Vote of Thanks to the President, the GST Bill, and did not vote on the Triple Talaq Bill either. Does that not show how little he cares about Parliamentary democracy? If the BJP had an ounce of concern for democracy beyond lip-service, they would give space to the Speaker to carry out his duties in a neutral and impartial way.

Air travel becoming costlier. ↑ Steelmakers under severe input cost pressure. ↑ From ceramics and glass to FMCG and automobiles, every sector is feeling the heat. Every product likely to become costlier. This pattern of denial is not new. 1. Demonetisation: We were told cash shortages would end in 50 days. “आप जिस चौराहे पर मुझे खड़ा करेंगे… देश जो सज़ा करेगा वह सज़ा भुगतने को तैयार हूँ.” 2. COVID Pandemic: We were told it was not a serious emergency. The nation witnessed bodies in the Ganga and catastrophic mismanagement. 3. West Asia War: Now we are told India has 74 days of oil and energy stocks. Situation remains grim. The country deserves the truth. We demand a full discussion on this crisis in Parliament and the Prime Minister must answer the nation.

As the Parliament reconvenes for the second part of the Budget session, US-Israel war with Iran has reached our backyard. In this context, it is imperative to have a full-fledged discussion on the current geopolitical crisis. A one-sided statement by the EAM is not the solution. We need to collectively take the nation into confidence. The GOI must come out with a detailed contingency plan to ensure our energy security, assist our traders, diversify supply chains for our exports and stop penalising our people with price hikes. The Opposition demands sensitivity towards our people.
