@dilanesper I used to think pronouns were not a big deal. I don't anymore bc of the Trans-Stroop effect. Contradictory information causes a cognitive load & disrupts the flow. It becomes especially apparent in real life discussions how confusing, taxing & difficult it can make keeping track.

The person in the screenshot is not a woman. He is a man. He would be a man even if he hadn’t raped a 6-month old. He would be a man even if had a spotless record. He would be a man even if he was highly placed cabinet official or a member of Congress. He is a man not because he is a sex offender who rapes children but because he is an adult human sex is male. There is no need to affirm his gender identity by calling him a woman. It is fine to call him what he is, a man, not because he is a sex offender who raped a 6-month old baby, but rather because he is an adult human male.

Well if you continue to bastardize women’s language, the only language we have to advocate for ourselves as a sex class legally and politically is, then you’re probably going to continue to get pushback from women. We are human beings who are unique from men. It’s disgustingly misogynistic to dissociate us from our embodied humanity into an abstract objectified identity label for men. You will continue to get called out for this sexist dehumanization of women. Especially when your language perpetuates entitled men to disrespect our boundaries, privacy, and safeguarding in the single sex provisions our foremothers fought for CENTURIES to attain. The absolute audacity of you. STOP. 🛑

@dilanesper It's telling that you find it "uninteresting." If you were a woman (the kind with brains and no internalized misogyny), it would be very interesting that your rights are being stolen and your sex class is being eroded by men in womanface. We will continue to correct you.

As long as there's a debate over trans issues, there will be disagreements over pronouns. As I said, they are uninteresting and add nothing to the discussion. I already know that a bunch of people call trans women "he"; I don't need to be "corrected".

If I do a thread about a trans woman and call her "her", and you come in my thread and "correct" me and say "you mean him", I'm probably going to block you. Beyond expressing prejudice, you are being immature and uninteresting. It adds nothing to go into threads and say that.

It is just wild that there is currently a 3 time convicted serial killer just walking around in Australia right now calling himself a woman & we’re all supposed to just accept it as a normal, functioning society & not a massive, terrifying problem.

For the better part of a decade, trans activists had unprecedented political capital & could have cashed it in to accommodate 3rd, 4th or even 5th spaces. Anything to keep them happy. But they didn’t. Because the entire goal was to get men into women’s spaces & women to shut up.

French courts have allowed a Muslim migrant to go free after the brutal murder of Sarah Halimi,his 65 year old Jewish neighbor. Halimi, a retired doctor, teacher, and widowed mother of 3, was beaten to death on 4 April 2017. For more than an hour, her screams echoed around her apartment building, while her murderer alternated between shrieking “Allahu Akbar!” and howling verses from the Quran. He then threw her lifeless body from a third story window. The French courts have ruled that this man cannot be held criminally responsible for his brutal act because he’d smoked marijuana before beating Sarah to death. I don’t speak French, so I can’t say how long it took neighbors to call 911. I don’t know why the beating was allowed to reach its fatal conclusion with what appears to have been no attempt at any kind of meaningful intervention by French police. The suspect was unarmed and outnumbered, and trapped in the victim’s apartment, but he was permitted to go on beating her for an hour. I have almost 20 years’ experience in law enforcement. I cannot explain why. I don’t want to think that Sarah’s Judaism played a part in the length of the torture she was allowed to endure, or in the lackadaisical response by French police. I don’t want to think that French courts simply don’t care about dead Jews, or that Europe as a whole has given up all attempts at enforcing the law within the Muslim migrant community. I don’t want to - but what other conclusion is there to draw?

I am a regular, some would say heavy, smoker of weed. In 30 something years I’ve managed to not beat any old ladies to death. That French weed must have been very strong. Or maybe, just maybe, it’s nothing to do with the weed and he’s just a violent murdering antisemitic bastard who should be in prison for life. I’m a very proud Mother, raising Lions not sheep. How fucking sinister is this?? My son claims he didn’t get caught and in the meeting the teacher said someone had handed him a note. Either way…. “You were caught talking at xxx, xxx and xxx about your ideological views - you were midway through a diatribe on why being part of the LGBTQIA+ community should be considered a mental illness/condition. I have since had a meeting with you, making it absolutely clear that making comments like that is deeply offensive and ideologically abhorrent and in no way appropriate to be preaching within the walls of the college. We talked about what effect saying such things may have on your peers, and staff. You were receptive to the feedback and promised that you would not talk this way in college again. I would like to take this opportunity to remind you that this written warning will remain active on your student record for the duration of 3 months after which they can become spent but will remain on your student record.”

@ThePosieParker It is way beyond that teacher's purview to tell your son that what he was saying is "ideologically abhorrent." It is none of his or the school's business. And of course, we all know that it is 'worthy of respect in a democratic society' and all that.
