I find it deeply disrespectful that certain politicians are only now speaking about victims, while for years paedophiles have been working within our children’s social care system. Even today, children and young people continue to be abused in children’s homes across the country — and politicians stay silent. It isn’t high-profile enough for them. A trial is happening right now that will expose the children’s home scandal, yet I have not heard a single politician speak up for the victims in this country. Abuse does not become more serious because the abuser is wealthy or famous. A paedophile is a paedophile, regardless of wealth or religion.
