@McGiff I was pregnant and had 2 young children n the summer of 76 we survived! We went to Greece 6 years ago and arrived to a heatwave with temperatures 40+ degrees we survived! You just have to be sensible don’t sit out in the hottest part of the day and wear appropriate clothing!

Just had a good (& calm) call with @Ofgem boss Jonathan Brearley to clear the air. I explained my concerns, he explained the difficult decisions they're faced with. We may not agree but the dialogue was useful & we've agreed to meet again to discuss options to help consumers.

@SammyCinnamon @iamalisonperry I’m not shaming anyone I’m stating a fact. I had my children during the 70’s. It’s what we were brought up to do. I also had one child that struggled with teething. I went around like a zombie for months through lack of sleep. Yes it was hard but that was how it was then.

@GCaulkin @iamalisonperry I’m not sure how long ago you had kids but they do still wake up at night and need trips outdoors, unfortunately iPads still don’t cover that yet... In the pub and there’s a couple nearby eating a meal with their baby in a highchair next to them, holding a phone & watching cartoons as he eats. All I can think is… What a bloody relief that must feel for them to be able to eat their nice pub meal uninterrupted.

@iamalisonperry I’m nothing special, we all did it that way. I do empathise with their struggles but I don’t think sitting them in front of any screen is the answer.

@GCaulkin That’s brilliant and you sound like an excellent mother. I’m sure, though, that you are intelligent and empathetic enough to not assume that just because you did it that way, that others can? We never know the challenges other parents are facing.
