Next up from Mount #TBR: The Orange Prize-winning Larry's Party by the late CanLit giant, Carol Shields. 20 years in the life of Larry, culminating in a dinner party that's been called "one of the greatest set pieces in modern fiction". Yes, please. #amreading

Movie #21 of 2021: Us. Didn't really work for me plot-wise but Lupita Nyong'o is so off-the-charts good and the tension is ratcheted up so high during the entire movie that the plot almost doesn't matter. Liked it.

Movie #20 of 2021: Love and Monsters. It's basically a Zombieland clone with mutants swapped for zombies, and minus the humour (though it tries). Decidedly meh.

Next up from Mount #TBR: Following one Newfoundland novel with another with Michael Crummey's Sweetland. Follows a man in a sparsely populated community who remains the final holdout against a government resettlement package. #amreading

Next up from Mount #TBR: Lisa Moore's February. My 3rd Moore is her most popular book is about mourning, shipwrecks, and motherhood. Moore's a CanLit institution for good reason. Excited for this one. #amreading

Next up from Mount #TBR: Brian Evenson's Immobility, about a man woken up to a post-apocalyptic wasteland after 30 years. Also, lots of reviews mention philosophy and Samuel Beckett, which is a bit unexpected, but here we go! #amreading

Next up from Mount #TBR: Nik Korpon's The Rebellion's Last Traitor, a post-apocalyptic noir SF novel about memory thieves. First came across Korpon back in my publishing days and, lemme tell you, the guy can write. Excited to start this one. #amreading

Next up from Mount #TBR: Stewart O'Nan's Emily, Alone, about an isolated widow dealing with old age. I really enjoyed O'Nan's Song for the Missing and have heard great things about this one. #amreading
