@steveon7 In that game, he was number 7, as Jinky was suspended. Played on the right wing despite being a ball playing midfielder/defender. He could have played anywhere on the park.

1969 - The great George Connelly nonchalantly scores Celtic's third in the 4-0 win over Rangers in the Scottish Cup Final, making a fool of John Greig in the process. The win completed a Treble for Celtic; the Bears attempted a pitch invasion at the fourth goal. ☘️

I know these lists are usually a bit of click bait, but what do we think of this one?

At the weekend, I had the privilege of sitting alongside Stuart Cosgrove and @comedyray on BBC Radio Scotland’s Off The Ball to talk about the film. During the show it struck me that at a time of well documented disharmony around the club, the love and support of George has brought us together. One look at the comments across social media demonstrates the universal admiration that the fans hold for him. Equally, whilst it is normal, perhaps even crucial, that fan media is independent, diverse and competitive, I am inspired by the way in which the various Celtic fan platforms have come together to champion this project. Since we launched the campaign in June, podcasters, broadcasters, bloggers and streamers have united to form a sort of collective for George. Among them are @CeltExchange, @20MinuteTims, @ACSOMPOD, @HereCelts, Ryan Fitzsimons aka Ryan118, and many more. The Celtic fans have shown exactly the kind of spirit needed to make a film like this. Unity and unwavering support for one of their most beloved heroes. One conversation at a time, George’s story is finding its way back to the people who never stopped caring. As we approach the final month of the campaign we stand only 11k from our first target of 50k. We want to reach that goal this week, one month ahead of schedule, so that we can focus our energy on the next stretch goal of 75k and take the film to the next level.
