Individuals who make Pride Night about themselves are exactly why these events are held. The existence of LGBTQ+ people should not be a matter of opinion or morality. They are human beings and deserve to be treated with respect.

Reliever Sam Hentges refused to wear the Pride hat (just like Blake Treinen) 3. Reliever JT Brubaker wrote Genesis 9:13-15 on his Pride hat 4. Reliever Ryan Walker wrote a message on the side of his Pride hat was unreadable on the broadcast *I couldn't tell on the broadcast if outspoken Christian Robbie Ray protested as well Well done, gentlemen. The @SFGiants have a long history of supporting our large & vibrant LGBTQ community, even when it hasn’t always been popular. It’s one of the many reasons I’m proud of the team.
That storied history makes it even more troubling that the Giants are now accepting ads from Chick-fil-A — a virulently homophobic business — & disturbing that some players used last night’s Giants Pride Night as an opportunity to display a bible verse about rainbows that is frequently used by right wing Christians to “take back” the rainbow from LGBTQ people.
Last night wasn’t just Pride Night. It was also the 10th anniversary of the Pulse Nightclub massacre, when 49 people were mass murdered.
To be clear, these players could have cited the rainbow bible verse on any of the other 364 days of the year. Instead, they chose to cite it only on Pride Night & only in connection with the rainbow Giants logo celebrating our LGBTQ community. There’s only one explanation for that choice — a choice the Giants tolerated.
It’s hard to envision the Giants tolerating this kind of behavior directed at any other community. The Giants can & must do better.

The guy in 12B is pretending to be intensely fascinated by the safety brochure. The woman glares at me, unbuckles her seatbelt with a loud clack, and stands up. As she slides into the aisle seat, she mumbles, "Some people have zero empathy."
The victory is short-lived. For the next two hours, every single time she needs to use the restroom, which is four times...she doesn’t just ask me to move. She deliberately grabs the back of my seat to pull herself up, shaking my entire world, and "accidentally" drops her heavy tote bag onto my lap on her way back in.

I paid extra for 12A on an overnight flight specifically so I could lean against the wall and sleep. I get to my row, and there’s already a woman settled in my seat, eye mask pulled up on her forehead, sipping a complimentary water.
"Excuse me, I think you’re in 12A," I say, holding up my boarding pass.
She doesn't even look at it. "Oh, I’m in 12C. But I really get claustrophobic in the aisle. You don't mind swapping, right? It's the same row."
"Actually, I do mind. I specifically booked the window so I could sleep."
She sighs, the kind of heavy, dramatic sigh that implies I’m being the difficult one. "It’s a three-hour flight. Surely you can be a good Samaritan."
I keep my voice completely flat. "I’m not a good Samaritan. I’m a tired person who paid $45 extra for that exact headrest. Please move."
