I want to congratulate my opponents on a hard-fought race. It’s never easy on candidates and their families to run for office, and Heather and I appreciate their willingness to step into the arena. As we wait to see which candidate will join us in the runoff, we hope to earn Alabama’s trust once again to bring this race home.

This poll is questionable at best and conducted by an organization opposed to the bill. The fact is twice now ALGOP has made it clear this is a critical issue supported by Republicans. The first time ALGOP passed a resolution in support of closed primaries with 82% support and this year with 84% support. It is time to let Republicans choose Republicans and Democrats choose Democrats and then everyone can choose with key differences in the General Election.

Let's see if I can get this straight:
Mooney caught with his camera app open. That, along with another allegation, results in his removal?
A photo of Mooney in the sacrosanct meeting is leaked.
Why aren't we talking about who leaked that having broken the rules or is that OK?

Details have been hard to pin down on this story, but there are some important points to clarify from earlier reporting... This photo was taken at the regular caucus meeting where members were discussing fundraising. Mooney is alleged to have recorded a later meeting to discuss the PSC bill, which is what got him removed from the caucus. His removal as chair of the Shelby County Delegation happened on Tuesday and was not related to the caucus meetings. I think that's all. I'm pretty tired.
