HSBB FINAL (02/26/2026) Thayer Bobcats 59 Willow Springs Bears 49 #C3D9 Bobcats Upset No. 2 Willow Springs, Advance to 13th Straight District Title Game! The No. 3 seed Thayer Bobcats delivered a statement performance Thursday night, upsetting No. 2 seed Willow Springs in the Class 3 District 9 Tournament behind a relentless defensive effort. Thayer’s pressure defense disrupted the Bears from the opening tip, forcing turnovers and limiting scoring opportunities throughout the contest. But it was the Bobcats’ second-half defensive pressure on Kolby James that ultimately proved to be the difference maker. After a competitive first half, Thayer tightened the screws defensively, denying clean looks and making every possession a grind. The Bobcats’ energy, discipline, and execution on the defensive end set the tone and swung momentum firmly in their favor down the stretch. With the win, Thayer improves to 14–12 on the season and advances to the district championship game for the 13th consecutive year. The Bobcats have captured each of the last 12 district titles and will now look to extend that remarkable streak. Thayer will face No. 1 seed Liberty in the Class 3 District 9 Championship on Saturday at 5:00 p.m. The matchup is expected to draw a large crowd and create a championship atmosphere as the Bobcats attempt to add another title to their historic postseason run. The CATS place three in double figures: Hunter Trinkler 17 pts Jayden Belcher 15 pts Kypton Horton 11 pts
