Trust and school policies may talk a lot about diversity, but with 1 in 4 students saying diversity is celebrated only on “special days” we need to insure that it goes beyond policies and performativity to be embedded in classroom practice.

💪 Grew the GEC Circle to 400+ organisations, authors, academics, charities, NGOs + inclusion champions, the largest collective of its kind in education 💪 Expanded GEC KnowHow into the largest curated inclusion knowledge base from bookshelves to playlists thegec.education

This year we 💪 Surfaced 26,000 student and staff voices, shaping national conversations on inclusion, belonging and wellbeing. 💪 Launched the Kaleidoscopic Data Framework, establishing GEC as the UK leader in data for inclusion.

And as we take a break and reflection, this year has been big for the GEC, BUT it’s been HUGE for inclusion! We couldn’t be happier to finally see a sharper spotlight on such an important issue in education. But our job doesn’t end here.

As we approach a break, we know not all students get the same range of activities & opportunities. Which is why it is important that schools offer this for equity. But our dataset shows these opportunities are out of reach for some with 1/5th of students feeling excluded.
