🌾U.S. winter wheat conditions fell to 26% good/excellent as of Sunday, the date's worst rating in records back to 1986. Corn planting remains ahead of average despite landing at the low end of estimates this week. Soybean planting is no longer the date's fastest (83% in 2012).

🇺🇸Last week's soybean export inspections topped all trade estimates while corn came in toward the high end of guesses. About 24% of the soybean cargoes were destined for China. Cumulative wheat inspections are up 10% y/y with less than two weeks left in 2025/26.

🇺🇸U.S. corn export sales jumped to 2.125 mmt last week, easily topping trade expectations and reaching the highest level since mid-January. New-crop corn and soybean sales, along with old-crop soymeal sales, landed near the upper ends of estimate ranges.

🇨🇳China's grain imports in the first four months of 2026 were up from the same period last year, especially in wheat. Meanwhile, pork imports fell 30% amid strong domestic output. Soybean imports were up 8% year-on-year but below the period's 5-year average.

🇧🇷Conab raised Brazil's 2025/26 soybean crop to a record 180.13 mmt, up nearly 1 mmt from last month. Soy exports egded up to a record 116 mmt. The heavily-exported second corn crop estimate was trimmed, though total corn output rose on a larger first crop.
