Dr. Brian Hooker lays out what the research actually shows. Aluminum levels in the brains of autistic subjects are significantly higher than in non-autistic controls. Autistic adults had 5 to 10 times more aluminum trapped in their brains. It's there. That part is established. Here's what it does once it arrives: Aluminum in its ionic form carries a charge. It tears apart the mitochondrial membrane. Mitochondria are exquisitely sensitive to that kind of disruption. Once the membrane is damaged, the body sends in the immune system to clear out the wreckage - damage-associated molecular patterns trigger a response to come and clean up. But while that cleanup is happening, the aluminum is still directly damaging the brain. So you get a cascade. Aluminum enters the brain and disrupts the mitochondria. The immune system responds to the damage, and in the process of responding, the damage compounds. This is not a theoretical concern. The aluminum is in the brain. The damage pathway is documented.
