Privileged to speak on a panel today at @PuseyHouse #Oxford, at the invitation of Bishop @GTomlin, on the place and witness of the #Church in the #PublicSquare. “The Church is not just another institution. It must challenge politicians, policy makers and civil servants to think differently, and to explain that Faith does matter to the vast majority of people despite the propagated narrative that it does not. It must challenge them to move policy and decision-making beyond statistics and strategy to care and consideration for the wellbeing of society as a whole. The Church has both the macro and micro view; we have an overview of communities while also engaging with individuals within, to whom we can provide representation and access where they may not be otherwise available. As Christians…as the Church…we must be a source of hope in the most challenging situations.”

Let us not forget martyred Ukraine, Palestine, Israel, and Myanmar. I appeal to the wisdom of leaders, so that escalation may cease and every effort be spent in dialogue and negotiation.
