It’s #WomensEqualityDay, but let’s be clear: The 19th Amendment didn’t mean equality for all women. And “equality” still leaves many behind. At GGE, we fight for justice that centers Black girls + gender-expansive youth. Equality isn’t enough. Liberation is the goal.

Happy birthday to the revolutionary Marsha P. Johnson. A Black trans woman who fought like hell so we could all live free. We honor her legacy by uplifting Black trans youth + demanding justice every day. 🌺 No pride without protest. #MarshaPJohnson #TransLiberationNow

Black women still make just 66¢ to every $1 paid to white men. Today, on #BlackWomensEqualPayDay, we demand more than equal pay; we demand economic justice. At GGE, we’re building a future where Black girls + gender-expansive youth are paid, protected, and valued.

As the program year ends, we asked our team to reflect. MSW Intern Ryan Power said: “The growth, creativity, and joy these young people brought was incredible. They taught me so much. I can’t wait to see what’s next for them.” 💜 #YouthPower #GGE #ProgramReflections

Today marks the anniversary of Title IX—the 1972 civil rights law that prohibits sex-based discrimination in education. 📚✊🏽 We commemorate this milestone in #Herstory and continue pushing for true equity in learning spaces. #TitleIX #GGENYC

On June 19, 1865, enslaved Black people in Texas were finally freed—marking the day we now honor as #Juneteenth. Today, we remember, we celebrate, and we continue the fight for true freedom. ❤️💚🖤 #BlackLiberation #GGENYC Source: Alexandra Wimley / Post-Gazette

It’s #PrideMonth at GGE, and we’re uplifting Black women leaders in LGBTQ+ history. Today we honor Audre Lorde—a writer, feminist, and activist who centered the lives of Black lesbian women in her work. 🖤🏳️‍🌈 Image Licence: CC BY-NC-SA 2.0 Image Credit: 350VT
