When I was competing in gymnastics, I refused to give up one competition because sacrificing one season, one meet, meant sacrificing my spot on the national team. It didn't matter how injured I was. I had maybe 4 years to make my mark. Giving up one was unthinkable. A young person's athletic career isn't long. A few seasons. The vast majority of these kids aren't gonna be pro. They have two strong seasons -- junior and senior year -- to make a college team, to get a scholarship. If an athlete gives up one important competition, to stand down, it could all be over. To put this solely on the female athletes, the ones who have trained their whole lives to have a shot at competing in college, is so wrong. Put the onus on the adults. The coaches. The leaders of governing bodies. The f-ing governor of California. They are the ones we need to confront. They are the ones failing. Not the girls. The girls just wanna play.

The single largest form of theft in America is wage theft. $50 billion a year are stolen from American workers. If a billionaire amasses their wealth by underpaying their full-time workers so severely that they must rely on food assistance and government programs to survive, then no, that wealth was not earned by one individual - it was a wealth transfer subsidized by underpaid American workers and the public who get stuck with the bill for large corporations free-riding off our systems. The point is less about individual morality. It’s more about how our current economic reality of shattering inequality rewards screwing over workers and exploiting essential systems at scale. We’re talking monopoly power. Rent-seeking. Wage theft. Profiteering. Stock buybacks. Destabilizing housing markets. Companies using SNAP/EBT to underwrite their wages. Massive government subsidies or contracts to corporations following lobbying and dark money in politics with little to no oversight or accountability. Some people get enraged that I draw attention to this. That’s on them. Recently I visited Missouri and stayed w my mom, who grudgingly let my dogs stay too Hub took them running and they came back with THOUSANDS of seed ticks I fully panicked bc we were at my moms who already didn’t want the dogs there and there were SO MANY TICKS. I put a little geranium oil on the dogs necks and the ticks literally all fell off dead and within minutes. TRY geranium essential oil. It is toxic like the vets meds are, so only a drop for ur animals on the back of the necks.
