Hypotheticals are always tough to answer … besides beating up on easy beats gets you no where … (long answer … sorry) Sacking the coach because of the season start against strong opposition with our injuries is also non sensical, after all there have been valid reasons for some losses. as you suggest … injuries, managed players etc have ham strung the coaches somewhat no doubt .. However some moves by the coaching group have been a little puzzling and have caused the natives to get restless. Lack of the tagging of the opposition’s best players especially when they tag our best player is just confusing We could have rediverted on field players who are playing poorly, into other more productive roles .. Keays for example, should have tagged one of Brayshaw or Serong IMO, he was running around contributing little .. Also Giving Rankine a burst in the CB when the game was virtually over is another poor decision.. But there are other poor pre game plans that were perplexing also .. Firstly selecting players that have known deficiencies in their game over and over for the same poor outcome .. doesn’t make sense …. If l have one criticism of the current coaching group it’s their reluctance to blood youngsters for a serious block of games …. This one game and dropped system is just rubbish … it achieves nothing ! For example selecting another tall against Freo was foolish, ( I don’t care if it was ROB ) when Finnbar was already brought in… the Crows could have done with another runner in that last quarter… 🤨 Also our mids are poor .. risking taking a backward step this year and blooding some youngsters for a block of games would probably be the right move for long term gain, especially this being the last year before Tassie comes in .. and there’s some serious mid talent available in this draft …. No one sensible would argue with a backward step if Edwards, Dowling, or even a Ryan or Marsh was being brought in and failing, most fans would understand that blooding youngsters and losing games go hand in hand … However losing games by bringing in older players that have failed in the past contributes little to both the current year and long term gain. What’s to be gained by doing that ? NOTHING !!! Nicks shouldn’t be sacked on results to date …. but as I said in my morning post Saturday ( COACHES CONCERNS ) make the eight or not, he shouldn’t be extended beyond next year… he has two years to get it right … I think that’s more than fair …

@Crickettrag1965 The game has passed him. His lack of basic skills has now directly cost the side goals and a shift of momentum at crucial times in the game. Doesn’t add anything to this team and it basically just comes down to his lack of skills and flexibility. One trick pony.

@Crickettrag1965 Honourable losses don’t mean stuff all when you’re 1-3. Lots of people say that good teams find away to get themselves over the line in these close games. Unfortunately these losses have serious consequences on ladder position at season’s end.

@Crickettrag1965 It’s a fair summary of where they have broken down so far this season. When they take the game on with quick ball movement they are a very hard side to stop. Unfortunately only seeing this in patches and by that time the opposition has control of the game. Reactionary football.

@JADelaideX If he decides to stay at Brisbane then Adelaide has their Bailey clone in Rachele. They continue to develop him and they might save themselves $$$ to have another crack at NAS when he’s off contract the following year.

Adelaide are reported to be offering Zac Bailey 1.6 million over 7 years. He is currently weighing up his options, but he'd like to stay even if he has to sacrifice a couple of hundred a year. (Jon Ralph, Fox Footy)

@Crickettrag1965 Looks like ROB is back in for Finnbar and Dowling in for Nank. Coaches favourite back in 🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️ but has proven he’s no longer AFL standard especially with the skilled big men coming through the system. Maybe he proves a lot of his doubters wrong or maybe not 🤷‍♂️🤷‍♂️

@Crickettrag1965 @FcMilera If this happens then the coaches are jumping at shadows. You can’t after 3 rounds go back to ROB especially after only giving Finnbar one game. ROB doesn’t significantly improve the team and more faith needs to be shown to the younger more mobile and skilled big men.

@Crickettrag1965 @Tbagrocks32 How did the lack of a quality spinner go for England in the Ashes. There have been some noise about not developing spinners of quality. Australia can’t afford to go down that path. Remember in Adelaide Garry bowled us to victory. Variety they bring is so valuable to an attack.
