@joshjappel @DelrayMike7 Please don't be that intellectually dishonest. It's a series of quotes from Netanyahu's handpicked Mossad chief saying Israel is imposing "apartheid" on the Palestinians. Other senior Israelis have said the same. That the Guardian is one paper that reported it means nothing.

@ggreenwald @DelrayMike7 Gasp! A Guardian article! If truth was solely determined by public opinion polls and cherry-picked tokens, most of your own positions would be equally undermined as well.

Someone named Tony Dokoupil, married to an Israeli, angrily berated Ta-Nehisi Coates for his book about the repression of Palestinians in the West Bank, and Bari Weiss thought: "that'd be a great person to make the CBS News anchor and save the show." Just a few months later:
Nick Field@nick_field90

"Weiss’ relaunched “CBS Evening News” with Tony Dokoupil is on track for its lowest-rated first quarter of the 21st century in both total viewers and the advertiser-coveted 25-54 demographic, according to preliminary Nielsen ratings obtained by Status" status.news/p/cbs-news-rat…

@ButtUglyBabies @Toronto1880 I didn't intend it as an argument. It was a question. He said I had no idea how terrible it is for Jews in Canada, so I was trying to get a sense for how much Jews are suffering in Canada by comparing it to other relevant forms of suffering referenced in the article.

I simply don't believe that Jews are a uniquely persecuted victim group, being "purged" from western power centers like business, media, entertainment politics. It's laughable. Those who get angriest about this spent years mocking victimhood narratives from every other group.

Glenn and I used to be friendly. I once interviewed him on stage in Ottawa, liked him and admired his work on the Snowden story. To shrug off a wave of bigotry and the widely-felt concerns of a minority, on such a petty basis, is beneath the morals of the guy I thought he was.

Coleman Hughes pushes Glenn Greenwald on the Israel lobby’s influence in Washington. @Coldxman: “The entire pro-Israel lobby was outspent...during the Obama years by the dentistry lobby…It’s not nearly powerful enough to get us involved in all these wars that people like to blame on it.” @GGreenwald: “If we are going to frame it as binaries—either AIPAC is all powerful and omnipotent…or the alternative is AIPAC is really kind of weak—I think it’s a disservice to the discussion. The truth lies in the middle, but far closer to the end of the spectrum where they’re extremely powerful… “This is a lobby devoted to the interests of a foreign country. And there’s nothing that remotely competes with the power of the pro-Israel lobby in terms of lobbies that come from other countries. And that's the reason why it gets so much attention. It’s just such a bizarre phenomenon of American political life.” Watch Coleman’s response—and the rest of their debate on Israel and U.S. foreign policy—now: youtu.be/AEvJQoowZUI

Coleman Hughes (@Coldxman) presses Glenn Greenwald (@GGreenwald) on his relationship with Tucker Carlson. @Coldxman: “I’ve heard [Tucker] promulgate lies to an extent that is really shocking to me…2020 election…Pizzagate…Aliens…Do you, as a journalist, feel that you have a responsibility to hold him accountable?” @GGreenwald: “I’m not saying everything Tucker has said has been in agreement with me. I’m not saying it hasn’t deviated from the facts. I’m not saying that he doesn’t occasionally wander into conspiracy theory. I think that’s true of a lot of people… But my journalism has focused on the people who can start wars—like the U.S. security state—and the people who can spy on us—like the NSA—and the people who go around the world killing people—like the CIA and the president—who can start wars…That’s my focus…There’s no shortage of people attacking Tucker Carlson every single day. But there is a shortage of people attacking all the other institutions. The much more damaging and powerful ones.”

@VinceDaoTV @ryangrim How is it objectively bad? Unless you're claiming you're a very benevolent person and just want to help the people of Cuba (the way we helped the people of Vietnam, Iraq, and Libya), how does the existence of this government in Cuba harm the lives of Americans in any way?

@ggreenwald @ryangrim “Why do Americans want to dictate who governs Cuba” Because they’re a smaller nation 90 miles from our shore, under our historical sphere of influence. It’s objectively bad for a hostile, pro-Eastern regime to exist there. If we have the ability, we should remove it. Not hard.

Anyone in favor of the US stranglehold on Cuba should listen to this Newsmax interview with @RyanGrim, who just returned from there with harrowing stories. His key question: why do Americans want to dictate who governs Cuba, while forcibly causing Cubans' deaths from no fuel?
Drop Site@DropSiteNews

“We are killing people. The United States is killing people.” Drop Site’s @RyanGrim challenged Newsmax to explain why the U.S. gets to decide Cuba’s future, describing the horrifying impact of the U.S. blockade, which is punishing civilians and rapidly collapsing daily life across the country.

I think it's very easy to use the cold bureaucratic term "short-term pain" to describe babies and relatives dying in a hospital for lack of fuel to maintain ventilators if it's not your babies and relatives dying. It's like "collateral damage" to describe the 170 Iranian school girls we vaporized on the first day of the war. But the bigger question: how is it Trump's job to do this? His central campaign promise was he'd focus on the interests of the Forgotten Men and Women: the American working class, the deindustrialized towns, etc. and put America First. Instead we're "fixing" Iran, Venezuela and Cuba? Also, the US does not start wars or impose embargos to "liberate people." We love dictatorships and always have. We have installed and propped up far more tyrants than democracies, and our closest allies continue to be the world's most savage autocrats (Saudi, Egypt, UAE, Rwanda, Uganada, etc. etc.)

Mind blowing revelation. Glenn Greenwald confirms that Richard Nixon and Barry Goldwater both complained on tape that the Israel lobby completely dictates American foreign policy. This is not a conspiracy theory. It is a documented reality admitted by US Presidents.

@har26606511 @ryangrim The US Government under Trump has a policy to block oil from reaching Cuba, whether it comes from Mexico, Russia or anywhere else. As a result, they can't keep ventilators on and food is becoming increasingly difficult. Do any of you read about policies before defending them?

I debated @coldxman on the Iran War, Israel, free speech, the pro-Israel lobby, Tucker Carlson and more. Good spirted discussion with lots of very sharp differences, but it was also a civil exchange that focused on the substance of these questions: youtube.com/watch?v=AEvJQo…

@scotthortonshow Yes, tons of USG reports that warn that these kinds of double tap attacks are a hallmark of terrorism. Reading my article from the Obama era, I was just reminded that that was one of the things that made the first WL "Collateral Murder" video so horrifying:

@ggreenwald This sort of "double bombing" in the words of the Department of Justice, was the lowest, degenerate form of murder when Eric Rudolph, the abortion clinic (and Olympic Park) bomber, did it on two separate occasions in 1997. It still is. justice.gov/archive/opa/pr…

Bombing somewhere and then waiting for rescue workers and first responders to show up to also bomb them is called "double tap," and it's a war crime. But it's not unique to Israel. The US did it constantly under Obama for the War on Terror: theguardian.com/commentisfree/…

Reports coming from Tehran that US/Israel has struck a rescue site while rescue workers were trying to clear the rubble of a site previously struck by US/Israel. There is nothing that is more characteristic of Israeli warfare than killing medics and rescue works.
