It continues to bother me how government often waits until people resort to extremes, shutdowns or even violence before it responds or addresses issues . Communities write letters, submit memorandums, attend consultations, raise concerns through lawful channels and are met with silence, bureaucracy or indifference. Citizens are effectively blueticked by the state they fund through their taxes. Then suddenly, once roads are burning, tyres are lit and cameras arrive, there is urgency, task teams and political visibility. It creates a dangerous lesson in society that says calm, reasoned engagement achieves very little, while chaos gets attention. The only explanation for this behaviour is a growing culture of leadership that has become detached from the daily realities of ordinary people. A government that genuinely cares about its citizenry would not need to be cornered into listening. Responsiveness should not be activated by fear of embarrassment or instability. It should be the basic duty of public service.

We're being dishonest if we claim the movement only wants the undocumented immigrants gone.

Two suspects, aged 27 and 32, were arrested by the EMPD Northern Task Team in Birch Acres, Kempton Park, after a hijacked e-hailing vehicle was tracked and recovered. Acting on information from a tracking company, officers located the vehicle and traced the suspects to a nearby residence, where they were found in possession of the vehicle, its keys, and the victim’s personal belongings. The pair have been charged with possession of a hijacked motor vehicle and suspected stolen property and are expected to appear in the Kempton Park Magistrates’ Court soon.

The argument that by calling out xenophobia means you’re not in touch with what ‘the people on the ground’ are experiencing is absolute hogwash. It infantilises poor & working class people as if they are above criticism and also assumes they inherently have a proclivity to hate.

The responses to questions about who is funding these marches show that a lot of people actually wouldn’t mind if they found out that their ‘revolution’ is being sponsored by Israel or Trump. Shame man.

Similar to when Israeli cyber official Tom Alexandrovich -- after meeting with NSA and other US agents -- was arrested in Las Vegas for trying to arrange hook-ups with underage girls. He was then bizarrely released with no restrictions, waltzed back to Israel, never returned.
