We're being told lives could be at risk if vandals continue to remove riverside lifebelts. It's after the Glasgow Humane Society revealed 800 have been thrown into the Clyde this year. Duncan and Margaret Speirs have been campaigning to install lifebelts with ropes attached, after their son Christopher slipped and drowned in the Clyde in 2016. They say the acts of the vandals is careless and could result in further tragedies.

We have been delivering Water Safety training to officers from @PSOSGreaterGlas This includes the safe and effective use of Public Rescue Equipment and Throw Ropes. Working with partner agencies to keep people safe in and around the waterways of Greater Glasgow.

With three races on the Clyde today we’ve been safety boating up and down the river with a big force of volunteers at the shed today
