Today marks six years since George Floyd was murdered by a police officer in Minneapolis. George was a beloved father, grandfather, brother, and friend. His life mattered and he should still be here. We’ll always work to honor his memory and fight against the systemic racism and police brutality that stole his life, and the lives of so many Black Americans.

Today marks four years since the massacre at Robb Elementary School in Uvalde, Texas shook the nation. Two teachers and 19 fourth-graders were shot and killed in their classrooms, and 17 others were injured. Today and always, our hearts are with the survivors, the Uvalde community, and all those impacted who should have been safe at school. We’ll always work to build a safer future in their honor.

This bill would prohibit the reporting of at-risk veterans to the National Instant Criminal Background Check System and allow hundreds of thousands of at-risk individuals to buy and use guns again — even if they are in a state of crisis. We can’t let this dangerous bill pass.

More than 4,400 people die from gun violence in Texas every year. That’s unacceptable. We’re proud to endorse these determined gun safety champions for the Texas legislature. This November, voters must elect leaders who will build a safer Texas for all and stand up to the gun lobby in Austin.

A lot in this TX GOP primary poll/memo, including that 77% of PAXTON voters support closing loopholes allowing dangerous people access to guns. But the larger point: the gun lobby couldn't save Massie, and they also aren't able to hurt Cornyn. They are increasingly irrelevant.

The three people killed yesterday in the shooting at the Islamic Center of San Diego have been identified as Amin Abdullah, Mansour Kaziha, and Nader Awad. They include a security guard, a community leader, and a member of the mosque who rushed towards danger when he heard the gun shots. All three victims are heroes, and they should each still be here. We’re holding their families and the entire Muslim community in San Diego in our hearts as they grieve this tragedy.

Four years ago today, a white supremacist shot and killed 10 people and injured 3 others at a Tops supermarket in Buffalo, NY. He specifically targeted the only supermarket in a predominantly Black neighborhood. The gunman was armed with an AR-15 that he purchased with an easily removable magazine “lock,” allowing him to use multiple, deadly large-capacity magazines in the attack. And he was radicalized by the content he saw on social media, where he was also able to livestream the attack. Today and always, our hearts are with the victims, survivors, and the entire Buffalo community as we work to honor them with action and hold bad actors accountable.

If handguns are allowed to be mailed through USPS: - Criminals can get their hands on firearms more easily - Gun trafficking will increase. That’s exactly what will happen if the Trump admin enacts this dangerous rule. We must reject this major threat to public safety.
