Residents across Pennsylvania & Ohio reported hearing a “large boom sound” early this morning. Pittsburgh’s National Weather Service says it was caused by a meteor entering the atmosphere.

In 1847, Missouri banned education for black people. John Berry Meachum went ahead and equipped a steamboat with a library, desks, chairs and opened a 'Floating Freedom School'. A THREAD!

Shall we salute and give flowers to the known oldest living Queen in America. As of late 2025 and early 2026, the oldest living Black woman is Naomi Washington Whitehead, born September 26, 1910. At 115 years old, she is recognized as the oldest living person in the United States and resides in Pennsylvania. She became the oldest American after the death of 115-year-old Elizabeth Francis in October 2024. 🌺💐🌹🌷🌻🌼 I’d love to sit at her feet and listen to Ms. Naomi’s wisdom. Thankfully, I still have my parents who are 85 years young and can only hope they live this long. My aunt did live until she was 101 and we were so grateful to have her. If you know of any person living 100+ years please share to we can acknowledge them. #DemsUnited #NaomiWhitehead

One of the great American Civil Rights Icons has died. Dr. Norman C. Francis, President of Xavier University for decades he built that institution into the premiere pre-med programs in the country sending more students into med school than any other college in the country. A champion of education and the epitome of Black intellectual excellence.
