@B12Mafia @SportsBizMiss @sportsvisalaw No, not if they are on student visas, they aren't allowed to work more than a set number of hours which is likely already covered by scholarships etc from the university.

Schools should be worried because international athletes can't receive revenue sharing if they're on a student visa. Should have been in our session at convention today with @sportsvisalaw!
Amanda Christovich@achristovichh

NCAA President Charlie Baker tells reporters that there are concerns from schools that international athletes could be violating their student visas if they get paid through rev share. NCAA is working on navigating that issue, but no answers yet.

@SportsBizMiss I suspect they want these details so they can pay athletes less from their own pool?

@SportsBizMiss They need to pause the whole thing until it's sorted out, UofM sends an email asking for money for athletics while announcing cuts in pretty much everything other than football and men's basketball.

Can't wait to hear how schools are going to get athletes to submit. When I've asked what percentage of athletes they think submitted NIL deals under previous school rules that required disclosure, they usually tell me 10-20%.
Amanda Christovich@achristovichh

I'm at a House v NCAA implementation presentation w/ ADs part of that implementation committee. Clemson AD Graham Neff says athletes will have to submit deals to NIL Go w/in 5 days of signing. And schools will be held accountable for if their athletes fail to submit.

Delap is bold to take the number 9 shirt. I wish him well. We just don't want stories later.

@SportsBizMiss Feels like there should be a pause on college athletics until this is all figured out and there are clear policies.

I'm in a bunch of groups for parents of high school and college athletes, and this is all very confusing for them. Many of their athletes have already been told they've lost their roster spot or offer. Now they have some (maybe false) hope. It's an emotional rollercoaster.
Ross Dellenger@RossDellenger

A plan is emerging to permit schools to voluntarily grandfather-in roster spots. But questions loom on a move that may impact budgets, Title IX, etc. Also: Will the plan be enough for the judge? Inside the latest as the House settlement hangs in balance yhoo.it/3RHzyLU

@JohnHolbein1 I think these can be helpful to display control variables or comparing fixed effects as opposed to long tables. Tables can be preserved for displaying primary results. But, from my minor experience, people still like seeing numbers.

Coefficient plots are all the rage! You see them all over the place as a means of visualizing regression output. In a coefficient plot, you take the coefficient estimate from a regression model and plot it as a point on an axis. Then, on the same axis, you take your confidence intervals and place them as bars around the point. A while back, I heard someone argue that we should use smoothed/fuzzy confidence intervals in our coefficient plots, like in the figure below. This approach aligns with Gelman's classic principle: the difference between “significant” & “not significant” is not itself statistically significant. Thoughts about this approach? #DataViz

The men's Final Four average 15.3 million viewers, peaking at 20.4 million, per CBS/Warner Bros Discovery. It's the most since 2017. Total viewership is average 9.9 million viewers, up 2%.

Things that give me comfort. 1. Israel’s economy has tanked 2. 70% of the country has PTSD or depression 3. Soldiers keep refusing to go back 4. Israelis are leaving the country in masses 5. Their main source of income, tourism, hardly exists 6. They are hated the world over
