Harry Belafonte's Jamaica Farewell has immortalized Baba in the hearts of many. He won't be around for many a day - nay, forever - but his spirit lives on in the Kenyan consciousness. @RailaOdinga will continue influencing Kenyan politics from the grave. Rest In Power, Jakom 🌹

Raila Odinga politically popularised the phrase “Nobody can stop reggae” on February 14, 2020, during a Building Bridges Initiative (BBI) rally at Bomas of Kenya in Nairobi.
It is befitting that one of reggae’s greatest stars, Luciano, has now paid a heartfelt tribute following the passing of Raila Odinga, a man who embodied the spirit of reggae’s message of unity, freedom, and resistance.
Bomas is a national cultural and events centre known for hosting major political gatherings.

Your Excellency, Dr. William, Samoei Ruto, President of the Republic of Kenya, Mama Ida Odinga & family, Distinguished Citizens of the Republic of Kenya, and friends of the late Rt. Hon. Raila Amolo Odinga,
The Kenya conference of Catholic Bishops (KCCB) has received with sorrow the news of the passing on of the former Prime Minister, The Rt. Hon. Raila Amolo Odinga.
On behalf of the Catholic Church in Kenya, we convey our heartfelt condolences to His Excellency the president of the Republic of Kenya, the government and the people of Kenya and in a special way to Mama Ida Odinga and the entire Odinga family. We join all Kenyans in mourning the loss of a distinguished statesman who devoted his life to the service of our nation.
The Rt. Hon. Raila Odinga will be remembered as a courageous and dedicated leader who tirelessly champion democracy, human rights, and the rule of law - often at great personal risk. His selfless sacrifice, resilience and unwavering vision of a just and united Kenya will remain an enduring legacy for generations to come.
As we commend his soul to the mercy of God, we pray that the Lord, who is full of compassion, may grant him eternal rest and reward him for his labour in the vineyard of justice and peace. We also pray that the Lord may comfort his family and all who mourn him, and that this moment of national sorrow may unite all Kenyans in the spirit of reconciliation, solidarity, and hope.
Eternal rest grant unto him, O Lord! And let perpetual light shine upon him. May he rest in peace. Amen.

Dear Baba, once you meet our Founding father Dr John Garang de Mabior, your best friend, please tell him that South Sudanese are suffering. The comrades that he entrusted with the Visions and missions of our country betrayed us.
Tell Dr John that the Mighty SPLM/A which fought with Arabs for 21 good years with limited resources has crumbled and reduced to beggars!.
Please let Dr John know that the Oil which was supposed to be a blessing is now a curse, our women are giving birth to deform children due to environmental pollution.
Tell your brother that the orphans whose parents die because of our freedom are now street children.
Tell Dr John that South Sudan 🇸🇸 has the poorest health facilities in the continent.
Dear Baba, once you meet our Founding father please inform him that the "happy giggling of children and the enchanting ululation of women" in 2005 has been replaced with grief and sorrows.
Tell Dr John that those who were not in the Bush during the struggle have hijacked the system.
Please Inform him that merit and justice are not in the vocabularies of South Sudanese's leaders/managers .Everything is earned through shady deals .
please pass our greetings to all the SPLM/A Founders that you know, tell them our country is not yet free .
Please tell Dr John Garang ,William Nyuon Beny ,Karbino Kuanynin ,Paulino Matip that Your country is divided along the tribal lines because you left them with greedy politicians not leaders..
Rip Agwambo. We will forever be grateful to you..
