When you have swarms of drones flying and every position is mined and zeroed in there really isn't much anyone can do to retrieve their guys. Any attempt would lead to more losses.

@forestrycaveman @Jebus Sure, but for that to happen the calculations must have been favourable. Compare this to for example RU/UA pilot getting downed in no man's land where every rescue attempt would be met with swarms of drones, artillery and mines.

Both lead to more losses. Reality is that single soldier isn't worth 300 million $ or lives of 20 guys, unless its relatively low risk mission like here.

@Kama_Kamilia If Russia attempted something similar in same scale it would have all ended up as KIA likely. They do also try to rescue pilots and there has been reports of it. Its just very risky and dangerous to completely different level.

@Kama_Kamilia I'm pro Ukraine, but its very different type of warfare like its not even close. Both Russia and Ukraine are close to equals and the ground is full of mines and air is full of drones + artillery and other weaponry from both sides.

@AveryDaye Kinda meaningless experience. Obviously wearing full kit will cause issues before your body gets used to it. Im a 6'2 man and still my reaction to gear + backpack was "fuck this", but your body adapts with time.

I put on a friend's military kit which confirmed what I already know: women should NOT be in combat roles in our military. The first thing I said was "omg my hips are killing me" and then learned that the number one most common injury women face in the military is lower extremity musculoskeletal overuse, AKA women break their hips!!! I'm a fit person, I workout every day, I was a national team level athlete, I'm 5'9", and I immediately recognized that women's bodies are not designed for this. It's not discrimination, it's simple fact. Women have less bone density and have narrower and thinner bones that aren't as strong and not designed to handle the weight of gear. We also have wider hips, and the shape of our pelvis changes how forces travel through the hips, knees, and legs, putting significantly more stress on those areas. During certain hormonal shifts, our bodies produce less estrogen, which makes women's bones weaker and slower to repair compared to men's. This doesn't even touch on the issues of morale/deployability/enemy treatment/lower standards and effectiveness/combat liability/ mental differences/cultural implications. Women are a liability on the frontlines. We're lying to ourselves as a country to say anything but. I was very happy to take this off and very grateful to the men who protect.
