In October we are celebrating #Blackhistorymonth2022. This is a time to celebrate the Black community and their enormous contributions to #LDN. But discrimination and racism are still impacting many Black lives. We must continue to stand against this injustice wherever we find it

Today, Deputy Chair of #AssemblyTransport, @CarolinePidgeon was given the Freedom of the City of London. Here she is receiving the honour with the City’s Remembrancer Paul Double, at Guildhall. Congrats Caroline!

I am honoured to have been awarded the Freedom of the @cityoflondon in recognition of my contribution to London. It is a great privilege to work with the City and other key partners to help make London an ever greater place to live, work and have fun.

Thanks @LondonAssembly for inviting me to share @TheCaresFamily's story. Loneliness is a political crisis as well as a public health and a personal crisis. Engagement from leaders across government, civil society and business is so important to keep this issue on the agenda.

Amigo Month ends on October 12 - the Day of the Americas and the Hispanics. It was great to have Spanish and Portuguese community leaders, artists and diplomats join us at City Hall today. We are proud to show our support to Latin, Iberian, Hispanic and Lusophone Londoners.

Fantastic to spend yesterday evening with the @BTLibDems at their fundraising dinner. Always great to meet so many fabulous activists and the trailblazers from @ChelmsLibDems like @sj_robinson and @mariecgoldman. Thanks for the invitation @EKSainsbury and @LauraClarkLD.

I’ve also asked the Mayor to increase cleaning at bus stops and shelters to remove the terrible graffiti and make them safer for passengers.

Given more passengers will have to wait longer for buses and change buses more as a result of bus cuts, I’ve asked the Mayor to extend the one hour bus ticket to 90 minutes to help Londoners in this cost of living crisis.

I’ve challenged the Mayor re his bus cuts given the current consultation is 1.6% of the 4% reductions required by Government. Complicated interchanges will have a real impact on mobility impaired Londoners.

Shocked the govt made a u-turn on implementing #Grenfell Tower inquiry recommendation on evacuation plans for the disabled. Considering this, I asked the Mayor to have a London-wide plan with local authorities to ensure #disabled Londoners are safe regardless of building height.
