@Daeluin @Naaatirv @PopBase Nope. Take for instance Bangladesh (independence day 26 March, 1971) not a former settler colony- as are the majority of African and Asian countries btw

Per FIFA's own rules about political statements in the tournament, why haven't Argentina been sanctioned for repeated singing of songs that could only be described as inflammatory? I'm not getting into the geopolitics of any land mass anywhere, it's ownership or claims. But DR Congo had to literally change their shirt design because it celebrated independence, so pro players in a dressing room, ahead of what will already be a politically charged environment ( England expects post deleted because of how it could be interpreted, which wasn't my intention) being allowed repeatedly to sing politically motivated songs? If Republic of Ireland players sang rebel songs v Northern Ireland or vice versa in Dublin, FIFA would step in. Likewise issues with balkan nations in recent years. So what's different here? I have lots of Argentine followers so please go not see this as a "English v Argentina" attack, but merely we mostly all agree no politics in football is a good thing? So why no sanction or even warning? Daily Mail have already gone big on it, the world's largest English language newspaper now, so that video in the dressing room with stoke tension. Unnecessarily so. If we're serious about no politics in the sporting arena, then it must apply to all. Sensible, sane feedback welcome.

So let me get this right: We've had Hand of God, Beckham red, Campbell disallowed goal, Lampard in Bloemfontein, Koeman in 94 qualifiers... ... and now you want us to feel bad because a hoof that landed in our half MIGHT have grazed a cable on it's way? Don't think so 😂😂😂

@WadePlem Most unqualified and uninformed opinion sofar. And who on earth names their newborn 'Wade'? Is it because you so gently 'waded' your way out your mum into the world when you were born?

England just flopped, robbed, and cheated their way into the semi-finals FIFA and the entire soccer world should be ashamed at such blatant corruption. My Reaction ⬇️

@Naaatirv @PopBase The "Argentina against colonialism" thing is ridiculous. Argentina is like Australia, a former settler colony, with the majority of the population being descendents of colonists themselves.

FIFA should just have America host every World Cup. Where else in the world do you have this many elite stadiums in cities capable of handling such an influx of foreign visitors? And it lines up with the American football offseason for easy conversion to soccer for the venues.

@winsty1776 @erikthesmith Indeed. As Anglo- Dutch (English mother Dutch father) lifelongAjax fan, Spurs became my English club, since 1989 and even after the dreadful 2019 CL semi finals. Great players in the past like Hoddle, Waddle, Gazza, Bale, Kane. And Spurs fans hate Feyenoord too 😆

I had some friends in college 20+ years ago who loved the English Premier League. I thought they were idiots. Now I find myself wondering which team I should adopt as my own before the season starts this year. Any recommendations?
