The term 'situational mutism' is being used for two very different things — and some young people are getting the wrong support as a result. We explain the difference between selective mutism and reactive mutism in our new position paper. 📘 spectrumgaming.net/post/sm-vs-rm

We have tried so many programmes both government funded and private but I have come to the conclusion that the issue is not with the autistic people looking for employment but with the employers not looking for the benifits that such people could add to their business.

My autistic son, who is autistic and intelligent, left University in 2021 with a 2:1 degree. Since then he has applied for hundreds of jobs. He has had only two online interviews. He wants a job but employers don’t want to employ people with autism, how to change this(?).#bbcqt

Just reposting this. We are wanting to hear from as many autistic people and their families are possible about what your priorities are in Greater Manchester for the next version of the GM Autism Strategy. Do either join our sessions or fill in the survey.
GM Autism Consortium@GMAutismC

Some of you will already know about the GM Autism Strategy but we need to do some work to extend this. I would love to get new people who may never heard of this work so do come along to one of our events of fill in our survey!
