@Spalders I love it. A real mix up, should make for a fresh feeling season, that said, Marquez and Ducati will be hard to stop, unless Bagnaia and Marquez clash too much on track n

@motomatters @Judda2017Malc There was a bit of a ‘call me, hand sign made from the Pramac boss towards him in the pit lane before the rider parade! Sensational return to Pramac alongside Fermin?

Note to all of you saying you’d rather see MV Agustas on the MotoGP grid instead of a GASGAS bikes, following the news of Pierer Mobility buying 50.1% of MV. There are no GASGAS bikes on the MotoGP grid - they are entered as KTMs. They just wear GASGAS paint 😉

@TomGaymor @GinoRea They are excited too. So much so they put his name on Kevin Manfredi’s chest too.

No Repsol Honda rider on the grid today. Marc Marquez pulls out. Very, very sensible decision.

@Laurasebas21 @DVincent40 @denkmit The first of those rider injuries wasn’t in the sprint race. The sprint race isn’t to blame for Pol’s injury and can anyone really say with 100% certainty that Enea’s accident was a direct consequence of the sprint and there was 0% chance that same crash could have happened in GP

@DVincent40 @denkmit There will not be riders left on the grif with so many riders getting hurt, second day and 2 riders already out for weeks.

Plenty of riders really unhappy with the new format today. But, almost universally, their belief is that there’s nothing that they can do about it, that they’re powerless

@CloserNotYet @denkmit Points still count. Just a statistician puts the win in a different column “Sprint Race Wins”.

@denkmit Can a rider line up on the grid "stall" 😉🤫 the bike and sit it out every race? If it's not counting why risk getting hurt? 🤔

Reversing yesterday’s initial comments, Dorna have today informed us that sprint races will now NOT count towards a rider’s win record but will instead be a separate column on their stats sheet

Apparently MotoGP will have a sprint race on Saturdays from next year. I wonder if MotoGP will ever do anything new without just copying F1

@matoxley Martin looked like he had something similar in FP2 aswell.

Woah! Bastianini's GP21 has grown horns during the summer break. Don't think I would want one of these in my gut in a multiple pile-up

@matoxley Did anyone get any pictures of the back of Martin’s bike? Looked like it had something similar in white from trackside.

Bastianini likes his new wings - they make the bike better on brakes, by increasing rear downforce to increase rear tyre contact, so he can get more stopping from the rear tyre, which is very important now

@kory_steele Worth highlighting that even when he’s on his feet there is no marshal in sight. No one at all.

Just an FYI, from the time he left the view of the camera after crossing the finish line, to the time they first show him, was 56 seconds. The actual time from the time he crashed to the time he got up would be less. It was not 2 minutes. youtu.be/HEJXItZhJz8

This is a very serious & disturbing situation, if @Petrux9 was indeed left entirely unattended & had to walk back to the medical center himself. @MotoAmerica needs to make a statement SOON if every procedure was followed & who's to blame if they weren't. instagram.com/p/Cd4PllaK_BV/…

@matoxley Tell me you’ve never been to @VIRNow without telling me you’ve never been to VIR. He ran off riders left as he tried to pass Mat on the outside, not something that works at VIR especially on a Superbike. So he ran out of room just past the checker.

@kory_steele @samknotty @ktmmike2000 @Petrux9 In the video he is back on his feet around a minute after he crosses the line, is it full live feed or cut down, titled as highlights. Either way there is no waved yellows, no marshals with him or the bike even after he’s wandering around on the grass for a minute after.

@daniehattingh @denkmit @MotoGP Rugby is judged by pitch side physicians who review video footage. I’d knock to head, HIA required. Player can only return if they pass it.

Raul Fernandez did seven laps this morning, crashed again because he couldn’t concentrate on what he was doing, and stopped then. @MotoGP’s approach to concussion remains an absolute disgrace 🤬
