"Why are DeSuiLabs so slow?" I get this criticism a lot. But people forget we launched for free and have done more than 99% of projects Here's the founding story of @DeSuiLabs: 1/ HEADS OR TAILS DSL was founded by my 2 best friends & I. We're degens, so we took inspo from @degencoinflip and built the first gambling smart contract on Sui. After showcasing our coin flip to degens at Sui HQ, we received a pre-seed grant to fund the house. This one dapp changed our life 2/ THE FREE MINT In July 2023, we launched DeSuiLabs NFTs on @Clutchy_io, for free. 6 months later, DeSuiLabs hit 1250 $SUI in floor price. Dafuq? 2/ WINX, LEGACY & FUDTHEPUG We built all this shit in 6 months: -Coin Flip: first betting dapp on Sui -Spot the Ball: innovative skill game -Lootboxes: first gacha game on Sui -@LegacyDSL: highest floor price on Sui -@WinX_io: $25M+ wagered volume DSL is also on the founding team of @fudthepug, which had no presale and was airdropped totally for free to the Sui NFT community in December 2023. 3/ ALL TIME HIGH (340x) The ATH net value of assets delivered to DeSuiLabs holders via NFTs, Legacy and $FUD = 7500 SUI Total cost to holders: 22 SUI That's a 340x. Through the entirety of 2023 we paid ourselves $0 in salary and re-invested everything into the Lab. 4/ THE FUTURE ? At the start of 2024 we raised seed funding from tier one VCs and angels. So why have we slowed down since then? Because you can't rush a masterpiece. It might sound arrogant, but it's true. Truly great things take patience. Unliked most projects, we don't rely on NFT revenues. We are building a sustainable startup. This doesn't happen overnight. The goal now is to scale our casino ecosystem and contribute to the growth of @SuiNetwork. At scale, we can create revenue sharing protocols for the DSL community. Scale allows us to align incentives. 4/ TLDR: STILL KINDA BULLISH ON DSL In the past year DSL has shipped: #1 meme on Sui @fudthepug #1 highest volume casino on Sui #1 ATH floor price for any collection on Sui #1 ATH floor price for large supply collections on Sui All delivered pretty much for free. So don't fade us yet. The next few months will be magical. We've already done so much with so little and we literally just got funded.
