50,000 of you, following me. Thank you. I’m not a bot. I’m a chemist with a PhD. When I started posting about how science actually works, I didn’t expect this many people to care about nuance. But you do. If you’re human too, drop a “hi” 👋

I’m not a bot. I’m a chemist. I’m a human with a PhD trying to talk about science. My goal is simple, make people smarter, not angrier. Science, explained clearly. If you’re human too, drop a “Hi” so I know I’m not shouting into the botnet.

On this cold, wet November afternoon, I wish I were back on Gully Beach, Gallipoli. Also, remembering those who went there and never came home. @Gallipoli100 #Gallipoli

@timdaw @BOUDICC88003310 Some of the lines are parallel with the contours so they could be lynchets running along the slope. However, other markings are orthogonal to contours, running up and down the slope. Not sure what these could be.

A local map posted on FB, any idea what is marked up? The numbers seem to all be unique so aerial survey? The marks don't seem to correspond to recorded features though.

At Bletchley Park, Helene Aldwinckle helped to break the Pink Luftwaffenführungsschlüssel, an ultra-secure cryptic key used for top-secret communications between senior German Air Force officers during WW2. Let’s dive into exactly how she did it: (🧵)

I was thinking about painting my bathroom this colour. But it’s a bit… bad taste.
