Presided over the opening of the 2025 Global Somali Entrepreneurship Forum (GSEF), themed "Innovate. Connect. Thrive." Speaking at the event, I underscored the need for inclusive business models that drive sustainable development, empower communities and align with the broader goals of the Bottom-Up Economic Transformation Agenda (BETA) across sectors such as health, education, agriculture and climate. Moreover, I called for innovation that modernizes tradition, creates jobs, restores dignity and strengthens critical systems like healthcare, where we are advancing digital tools and scaling up primary care. The event brought together dignitaries from across the globe, including; H.E Amb. Jabril Abdulle, Ambassador of Somalia to Kenya, Principal Secretary Micro Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME) Suzan Auma Mang’eno, Deputy Executive Secretary - IGAD H.E Mohammed Ware, Head of IGAD Mission to Kenya Dr. Fatuma Adan among other distinguished guests and dignitaries.

Glad to address this year’s Global Somali Entrepreneurship Forum (GSEF) 2025 @GSEF_Forum, in Nairobi, Kenya. A celebration of the enthusiasm, energy, and resilience of the Somali Business Community, I shared with them IGAD’s role in creating a business friendly ecosystem in our Region, through its Peace and Security initiatives, the IGAD Infrastructure Masterplan and the Economic Development and Regional Integration Portfolio. Leveraging Climate Finance Mechanisms, preparing community-based bankable projects, and putting women and youth, the majority of our citizens, at the forefront, were highlighted.

Received Hon. @HonAdenDuale earlier today at #GSEF2025, at Radisson Blu, where he honored us as the Chief Guest. He has consistently championed community-led efforts—whether in politics, business, religion, or cultural preservation. His presence today reaffirmed that legacy!

Met PS for MSMEs, Ms.Susan Mageni at #GSEF2025. We're partnering on the East Africa Trade Fair this November in Nairobi — with Somalia joining as a new EAC member. Talks underway for Mogadishu to host the next one!
