José Mourinho Show
José Mourinho Show@Jmshow10·

@objective_cfc I’ve been trying to understand for a long time why people give him and others like him so much attention. It seems like you’re one of the very few sane people on this app who actually gives a proper answer instead of some rubbish.

@GSL_IV_ I personally think Pys has some media contacts man. I’m also cool with people thinking he doesn’t… it’s a minor in the grands scheme of things imo

At the risk of repeating myself… Any manager is coming into a massively disconnected environment with low trust and huge skepticism. This HAS to be understood imo. If the new manager anyway resembles a poster boy for a model again (unproven with potential) then any manager will have to fight for the acceptance/respect of the fan base again. Patience gap will be non existent, objectivity out the window and any loss early days will be met will a level of distain that isn’t remotely fair in the context of the circumstances. Uphill battle from day one and civil war will continue (and amplify) off the pitch imo. Only winning will keep the negativity away, only winning something big will lead to respect - both hard, especially when working in such a hostile and disconnected environment. …even then, IF the manager does manage to overcome the circumstances and win something big (Maresca/CWC) then he still might not be fully accepted if he doesn’t play a style of football that the fan base like. On top of this, If the manager doesn’t have a history of winning something big as a manager (or player) he will ALSO have to earn the trust and respect of a dressing room because the majority of players will have already won more in their young careers. Horrible foundation generally. Better to employ someone who ALREADY has the respect of both the fans and the players from the start. Chances of success are MUCH MUCH MUCH higher. Intangibles - Proven history of winning major honours as manager - Proven history of winning major honours as player - Ex player status (legend ideally) On top of being a competent coach with the right character, if you get someone who has both intangibles you’ve hacked the system imo - you’ll gain instantaneous respect of dressing room, unite a disconnected fan base and open up a huge patience gap through natural early imperfection that will allow the new manager to actually work and give him a chance. No guarantee of success but chances are much higher as environment is healthier - Needs to obviously be a good coach. Examples: ✅ Xabi Alonso (Two intangibles) Xavi (Two intangibles) Tuchel (Two intangibles) Cesc Fabregas (Two intangibles) Lampard (Two intangibles) Felipe Luis (Two intangibles* - issue here is ex player status isn’t strong AND most won’t respect his achievements in South America even though they are outstanding/south American CL) ❌ lraola (no intangibles) Silva (no intangibles)

@objective_cfc Why doesn’t it matter tho? If it was his opinion, then I understand, but he said all that as if it were coming from the club with 0 back up. What if a minimum top 5 thing was never their plan and he just assumed that himself? Then does the point still stand?

In light of Bobby Fairview’s latest post criticising Behdad Eghbali for what he’s done with the club — I made this. I’d repost it, but I’m blocked. First of all, I understand the frustration. Chelsea Football Club should always be competing for the biggest honours — that’s the standard. But the moment this ownership came in and chose a full rebuild, short-term success was always going to be sacrificed for long-term sustainability. That part wasn’t hidden. That was the trade-off. What is fair criticism, however, is where we are now. Four years in, and we’ve regressed. That’s not acceptable. The club has to take accountability for the decisions that led us here. The stated goal was stability — a long-term coach, a clear direction. Instead, we’re now heading towards a fifth permanent manager in under four years. That’s the opposite of stability. The recruitment also hasn’t been good enough. Between January 2023 and summer 2024, 26 players were signed for the first team. 15 of them — 58% — have already been moved on within 24 months. 11 of those within 12 months. That’s not a sustainable hit rate. That needs to improve, full stop. That said, where I completely disagree with Bobby’s post is the idea that “Roman left a blueprint.” A blueprint for what — 2005? Football changed. PSR/FFP changed everything. The Premier League’s financial growth changed everything. You can’t just outspend everyone anymore — you have to spend smart. So what was actually left behind structurally? A sporting director with no real football pedigree. A recruitment system producing more misses than hits. Minimal use of data in scouting. A wage bill among the highest in the league without performances to match — no top-two finish in five years. Yes, we won the Champions League in 2021 — an incredible achievement. One of the best moments as a fan. But let’s be honest: that wasn’t representative of the club’s overall performance level at the time. The trajectory under Roman was already declining. The first nine years were elite: - 3 Premier League titles - 5 second-place finishes - 10 major honours in 9 years - 6 domestic cup wins from 7 finals - 6 Champions League semi-finals Then compare that to the following decade: - 2 league titles and 1 cup in the first five years - 1 cup + 1 UCL in the next five - Domestic cup record flipped — six losses and only two wins - Only 2 UCL semi-finals in ten years After the original spine — Cech, Terry, Lampard, Drogba — aged out, we never properly replaced it. That’s the reality. So no, there wasn’t some perfect “blueprint” waiting to be continued. It was outdated. A rebuild was necessary. The issue isn’t that they rebuilt — it’s how they’ve executed it. And yes, it hasn’t been good enough. But it’s also not as far off as people are making it out to be. This squad has shown its level — winning the Club World Cup in 2025, reaching a second domestic final in three years. The talent is there. The problem is consistency, leadership, mentality, standards — and enforcing those standards. That’s what should be demanded. Not “BlueCo out” — which isn’t realistic and won’t be taken seriously. 1/2

@Chels1an I get that, but don’t you think it’s a waste of time to have a thought about something that might not even be true in the first place? I feel like it can easily distort the context and push people to overreact or throw a tantrum over nothing.

“The view would that fans will get behind the next coach based on results and not pre existing emotional attachment” is naive bordering on suicidal They whistled Maresca on Matchweek 1 They’ll turn on the next coach too unless there’s an emotional attachment
Max@MaxFSport

Chelsea won’t be appointing the next coach based on fan opinion. The temperature of the fanbase is factored in, but Chelsea will go for someone that fits into their structure and someone they feel that can be a stability builder. The view would that fans will get behind the next coach based on results and not pre existing emotional attachment. 🔵 The minimum is to be a regular T5 club.

@Chels1an Ok my bad, let me reword it. Why people give a fuck about something that maybe only 50% true that also coming from a guy who isn't a real journalist or reporter with no proof of credible sources but acting like one?

@MobyChe Just a quick question, why do you believe everything he says? He's not a professional reporter or journalist, doesn't work for any credible sports media and never proves that his sources are reliable beyond just saying, "I've been told" and whatsapp chat.
