At the risk of repeating myself… Any manager is coming into a massively disconnected environment with low trust and huge skepticism. This HAS to be understood imo. If the new manager anyway resembles a poster boy for a model again (unproven with potential) then any manager will have to fight for the acceptance/respect of the fan base again. Patience gap will be non existent, objectivity out the window and any loss early days will be met will a level of distain that isn’t remotely fair in the context of the circumstances. Uphill battle from day one and civil war will continue (and amplify) off the pitch imo. Only winning will keep the negativity away, only winning something big will lead to respect - both hard, especially when working in such a hostile and disconnected environment. …even then, IF the manager does manage to overcome the circumstances and win something big (Maresca/CWC) then he still might not be fully accepted if he doesn’t play a style of football that the fan base like. On top of this, If the manager doesn’t have a history of winning something big as a manager (or player) he will ALSO have to earn the trust and respect of a dressing room because the majority of players will have already won more in their young careers. Horrible foundation generally. Better to employ someone who ALREADY has the respect of both the fans and the players from the start. Chances of success are MUCH MUCH MUCH higher. Intangibles - Proven history of winning major honours as manager - Proven history of winning major honours as player - Ex player status (legend ideally) On top of being a competent coach with the right character, if you get someone who has both intangibles you’ve hacked the system imo - you’ll gain instantaneous respect of dressing room, unite a disconnected fan base and open up a huge patience gap through natural early imperfection that will allow the new manager to actually work and give him a chance. No guarantee of success but chances are much higher as environment is healthier - Needs to obviously be a good coach. Examples: ✅ Xabi Alonso (Two intangibles) Xavi (Two intangibles) Tuchel (Two intangibles) Cesc Fabregas (Two intangibles) Lampard (Two intangibles) Felipe Luis (Two intangibles* - issue here is ex player status isn’t strong AND most won’t respect his achievements in South America even though they are outstanding/south American CL) ❌ lraola (no intangibles) Silva (no intangibles)

@ProfessorMilan I’d more look at his strength programme tbh. He’s gained a lot of mass in a short period of time imo

Chelsea have got to try and get on top of these Anselmino and Emegha hamstrings this summer …It’s becoming extremely extremely extremely concerning

Get the right manager and shit changes fast. Get the wrong one and shit gets very dark very quickly. They’ve got 7 points from 12 and it should really be 9. RDZ picked them up at below rock bottom too. The gloves fits man. Seems like a good fit for both parties. RDZ will be an instantaneous hero with the fan base if he keeps them up (now looks very likely imo) and they’ll kick on next year with a few good signings imo. I understand the issues with greenwood etc and he’s a ‘hot head’ too (isn’t necessarily always a bad thing if harnessed/arguably it isn’t with him) …but I think he’s found a really good home at spurs imo. Will be given the reigns too and will lead them well imo, shit changes fast. RDZ has an edge to him. Exudes confidence/arrogance too and it spirals into his teams - what he did at Brighton in his first season was outrageous man. I remember them coming to the bridge and man handling us, turned up at the emirates and battered them too - your man had Undav upfront ffs 😅 Slightly envious tbh, away from the big issues with Greenwood etc he’s def got a-bit of ‘Chelsea’ about him in his nature. We need a similar energy imo. No more nice guys (one of my big concerns with Alonso). I want a competitor, someone who reflects the clubs values and therefore effortlessly connects with the fan base. We. Have. To. Get. This. One. Right. 🔵

Pep def shouts man. 😅 Let’s see - I’m not convinced. Nothing wrong with his temperament but I think his playing CV commands the respect he gets from any team more than his temperament. The teams he’s played in doesn’t automatically mean he has a certain temperament either man, nor any result he’s been in. Kante has won it all but is like a mouse. Cesc has an edge to him imo RDZ has an edge Tuchel has an edge Mourinho has an edge Conte has an edge Pep has an edge Klopp has an edge Arteta also has an edge to him. I’m not saying all are the right fit. Some of these managers personalities are not harnessed and are borderline unhinged. …but I wouldn’t put Alonso in this list temperamentally. He has a different leadership style imo I’m not saying I don’t want him, with the current list he’s def in my top two and I think he’ll get it I just have concerns with him. Let’s see if that works at Chelsea in the current climate and with the clubs expectancy levels. I’ll hold my hands up if I’m wrong as ever.

With respect Xabi Alonso is not a “nice guy”. He’s a winner. He & Gerrard got Liverpool from 3-0 down to win the CL in 2005. He played for Jose & Pep. He’s a leader. Quietly spoken doesn’t mean nice guy, or pushover. Pep doesn’t shout too much but he has authority.

@xtra_cfc Nah, Emery knows where his seasons gold is and he’s focused on Thursday. Even if they were stronger today, spurs were very good tbh. Was impressed how much better structured they look. Attacking threat too.

@fplfanatic I personally think he has attributes that could succeed at a higher level imo. (Better than what we’ve seen from Delap and Guiu anyway) Unfairly getting hammered without even kicking a ball imo. He’s only getting shit this season mainly because of his repeated hamstring issue

@objective_cfc Emegha was such a stupid error. We need to try and cancel the deal somehow or find a way to immediately sell him. Not a chance he makes it, nevermind all these injuries ffs. not good man 🤦‍♂️

@GSL_IV_ I think Pys has some contacts man… When you get an account as big as his it’s natural for connections to open up. I also understand some people are skeptical. Fundamentally it doesn’t really matter. I just used his post to clarify a perspective i have man

@objective_cfc Why doesn’t it matter tho? If it was his opinion, then I understand, but he said all that as if it were coming from the club with 0 back up. What if a minimum top 5 thing was never their plan and he just assumed that himself? Then does the point still stand?

Blows my mind some people think not getting Europe - which could sabotage player and manager recruitment - would be a "good" thing for Chelsea's long term success.
