20 years old Prudence Imuli was shot dead yesterday in Marurui area of Kiambu. According to her husband, Prudence was beginning to prepare supper around 5pm when she realized she was out of cooking oil. She stepped out and went to the nearby shop to buy the cooking oil. On her way back at the door of their plot, she was shot in the chest. Her husband rushed her to Kenyatta hospital where she died a few minutes into the treatment. They had no children.

Because Matatu operators are the ones who have called off the strike, Kenyans MUST REFUSE to pay hiked fares. Since they are the ones in dialogue with the government, they should not pass on the cost of their dialogue to innocent, underpaid and overtaxed Kenyans!

Martin Rigii Karuu, 34, was shot yesterday during the protests in Kiambu. He was rushed to Radiant Hospital for treatment but sadly succumbed and lost his life. His body was later taken to St. Teresa Mortuary on Kiambu Road. @VOCALAfrica_ is in touch with the family and following up to ensure justice is done.

Central Police Station OCS Dishen Angoya has been arrested for releasing 64 innocent people who were detained during yesterday’s fuel protests. Arresting Angoya for respecting the right to protest is a clear sign of desperation by Ruto. We are going to defend him and provide legal support. Chief Inspector Angoya must be celebrated for being the only officer brave enough to disobey illegal orders from Murkomen and Kanja. We are also calling on the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions and the Judiciary not to approve the trumped-up charges that will be brought against him. Kenyans, let’s send Angoya solidarity messages and financial support. He is a good officer who was brave enough to disobey illegal orders. His phone number is +254 722 671851. He is currently being held at Langata Police Station.

Also, one of the reasons why Nairobi Central Police Station OCS was arrested. "Orders from above" were that CBD be littered with bodies and he refused to comply.

🚨Court of Appeal Forces Open the SGR Black Box: A Major Win for Debt Transparency in Kenya The Court of Appeal in Mombasa has dealt a definitive blow to state secrecy. The appellate bench dismissed the Attorney General’s appeal, upholding a landmark High Court verdict that legally commands the government to immediately disclose hidden contracts related to the Standard Gauge Railway (SGR). The petition, relentlessly pursued by human rights defenders Khelef Khalifa and Wanjiru Gikonyo alongside Katiba Institute and the Commission on Administrative Justice (CAJ), demanded full public access to SGR agreements, loan contracts, feasibility studies, and operational frameworks.

Egypt’s elected president Dr. Mohamed Morsi, who was overthrown and later killed in prison: “We must produce our own food, we must produce our own medicine, we must produce our own weapons.” “The one who relies, after God, on his own sweat, his own arm, on science, land, capabilities, available resources, raw materials, and natural resources, is the one who has the right to say that he possesses his own will.” “The one who asks from others does not possess his own will.”
