Today's adventure day brought Jill and I to Augusta for the 44th Annual State of Maine Sportsman's Show and lunch at The Red Barn. We had a good time at the show and a completely ridiculous lunch. Life is GOOD...but now....I gotta sleep off that lunch. 💤 💤

@Billybobwalter1 Did you make it back with both of your boots? Ive never gone clamming but I've heard of people getting stuck in the mud out there. 🤣

Basically we just look for holes in the mud at low tide and dig under em and bam. You got delicious clams

#facts I asked a grizzled guide from Bingham at the Sportsman show today....where is the good fishing in the Bingham area...i was already grinning knowing what was coming...he said...."there ain't a damned fish to be found anywhere NEAR Bingham." I said yesssah and went about my business. 🤣🤣

I went with an old timer and he pointed out the fact that there’s no sea weed and alot of clams. Green crabs live under seaweed and eat clams. You gotta listen to the old timers.

I’m craving some clams

Jill and I hike around Castine...out by the lighthouse. We always talk about going down there on a summer evening for dinner but haven't done it yet. Her friends from Georgia are coming back later this Summer so we can take them camping...They really like being near the ocean but need to truck camp (Jackie is recovering from a severe accident..Jill was her nurse in the ICU....its how they met) so I'm thinking of Cobscook Bay if it's re-opened this season.

We were going to take a trip to Stonington a couple of weeks ago when Jill's friends from Georgia were here but we would up going to Bar Harbor and a drive around MDI instead. *boring* I did take them up to Avon for a tour of Ruthie's Sugar House, though. I told them...there is so much more to Maine than just the tourist bit at Bar Harbor. He is a fireman and bought a ton of fresh syrup for the firehouse..was blown away by how good it tastes compared to that chemical concoction stores sell.

@hare_karen Way to keep the pack managed, Chum...you're doing a fine job taking care of your Mom too! A few well earned pup cups sounds like a GREAT idea!

So me and mom and dad are heading home. Dad did take me to the PCSP dog park and I had a blast. Of course with dad there are no pictures 🙄. I’ve been promised some pup cups. We will see. Now I have to supervise the driving. Life of Chum.
