With the QuestPro and now VisionPro we're starting to see the era of true MR devices - systems that can be used for either AR (see-through) or VR (wide FOV) and have true scene understanding. I suspect most VR devices from now on will have pass through video and spatial tracking.

One of the most important skills as an Academic is dealing with failure - most papers are rejected, 90+% of grants don't make it, most contacts with industry don't result in projects, most research ideas don't pan out, etc. Yet this is one of the skill hardly ever taught :(
