Seems Musk didn’t have Latin in school, where one learns that both Iliad and Odyssey are works of fiction, poems to be exact. Fictional characters can have any ethnicity and why wouldn’t Helen of Troy have been a beautiful Nubian woman?
Bill Madden@maddenifico

Ironically, Elon Musk has never quibbled w/ the Christian portrayal of Jesus as a sandy-blond, blue-eyed white surfer dude. Perhaps I'm mistaken, but a massive historical rewrite seems a bit more important than his emotional crisis over which minorities are acting in The Odyssey.

🚨TOYOTA JUST DROPPED THE ULTIMATE NAMPO BOMBSHELLS. FJ CRUISER IS BACK, HILUX GOES NEXT-GEN AND RAV4 GETS GR-S FIRE‼️🔥 Toyota’s Standout Trio at Nampo 2026 Just Crushed It, New Hilux, RAV4 GR-S and the All-New FJ Cruiser Are Ready to Dominate SA Farms, Trails and Roads🔥 Toyota’s showcase at Nampo 2026 in South Africa features THREE long-awaited new or significantly updated models that blend legendary toughness, modern design and everyday versatility, perfect for the country’s farms, adventures and family roads‼️ 🔥1. All-New 9th-Generation Toyota Hilux (Double Cab)
The undisputed hero of Nampo 2026🔥 Toyota is celebrating the Hilux’s global icon status with massive Guinness World Record attempts involving thousands of owners. This bold new generation brings a striking hexagonal grille with prominent “TOYOTA” lettering, sharper LED lighting, updated rugged styling and the proven 2.8GD-6 diesel powertrain (with mild-hybrid options expected). It retains the Hilux’s legendary durability while adding premium comfort, tech and capability.
Launch: Officially arriving in South Africa in June 2026 (locally built)
Pricing: Not yet confirmed for the new model, expect it to start in the same ballpark as the current range (from R534 000 entry-level up to R900 000+ for top-spec 4x4 Legend 55/GR variants). 🔥2. All-New Toyota RAV4 GR-S (Hybrid Crossover)
The vibrant, sporty red crossover is the all-new 6th-generation Toyota RAV4 GR-S, the world’s best-selling SUV now with Gazoo Racing attitude for South Africa🔥 Fully hybrid (2.5-litre petrol-hybrid powertrains with E-Four AWD options), it delivers sharper performance, better efficiency, bolder GR-S styling (sporty body kit, bigger wheels, aggressive stance), advanced safety and premium cabin tech while keeping its practical family-hauling DNA.
Key highlights: GR-S tuned suspension and looks for that extra edge on daily drives and light adventures, first time we get the GR Sport badge on the RAV4 in SA‼️
Pricing: Expected to start from around R720 000–R780 000 (base models), with GR-S hybrids from R764 000 upwards (exact figures to be confirmed at full launch in the first half of 2026). 🔥3. All-New FJ Cruiser (The Spiritual Successor to the Legend)
The one that’s got everyone buzzing, the all-new FJ Cruiser is back and heroing at Nampo‼️ This compact, retro-boxy off-roader revives the fun, adventurous FJ spirit on a tough ladder-frame IMV platform (Hilux/Fortuner DNA). Part-time 4x4 with low-range, rear diff lock and a punchy 2.7-litre petrol engine, built for real African trails, farms and weekend escapes without the massive size.
Key highlights: Classic round-LED headlight looks, shorter wheelbase for city agility and serious off-road capability, modern interior with that unmistakable FJ vibe.
Launch: Arriving at SA showrooms in Q2 2026 (right after the Nampo hype).
Pricing: From around R714 000–R761 000 (GX to VX specs) insane value for a proper 4x4 legend-in-the-making. 🔥These three launches underscore Toyota’s commitment to South Africa’s unique mix of agriculture, adventure and family motoring. The new Hilux steals the spotlight at Nampo, but the RAV4 GR-S and the FJ Cruiser revival complete a formidable 2026 lineup that’s ready to dominate every road, farm and trail in South Africa‼️

🇹🇷🇬🇭 A single Turkish ship anchored off Ghana's coast generates over a quarter of the country's electricity. The MV Karadeniz Powership Osman Khan is 299 meters long and pumps out up to 480 MW of power. It has been doing this since 2017. No power plant to build. No years of construction delays. Karpowership, the Turkish private company behind it, has quietly turned this model into a global business, deploying floating plants to countries with chronic energy deficits across Africa and beyond. Africa has an infrastructure gap that traditional investment has failed to close for decades. Turkey found a way to monetize that gap with engineering.

There’s a clear power struggle at play between these two generals. Mkhwanazi’s testimony before the committee felt personal; he painted Khan as a man of immense wealth—more so than the very politicians questioning him—and pointed to his influential alliance with Julius Malema. By invoking their shared history from the Youth League, Mkhwanazi added a layer of betrayal, effectively saying, 'He knows I know the truth, and that’s why he won't sue.' #ProtectGeneralMkhwanazi #MadlangaCommision

As received (photo attached of innocent blood spilled because it is just a song) SOUTH AFRICA IS SCREAMING — WILL THE WORLD LISTEN? This is not a headline. This is a cry from the shadows — a blood-soaked scream from a brutalised land. On May 12, 2025, just after sunset, in the rural stillness of Uitkyk near Mbombela, South Africa, a 74-year-old grandfather named Jan Jurgens walked into his storeroom to fetch animal feed. It was the last calm moment he would know. Then came the monsters. At least two attackers were waiting in the shadows. They pounced. They didn’t just rob him — they butchered him. They hacked at his face and skull with a panga — a machete. They crushed his head and face with a rock. They left deep gouges in his body and smashed his eye sockets, leaving him choking and unrecognisable. When he slipped into unconsciousness, they tied his hands and feet with shoelaces like an animal, and when he groaned back to life, they jumped on him. Repeatedly. His dogs tried to save him. The attackers slashed them too. One loyal Labrador is still fighting for its life. Jan's wife, Antoinette (72), arrived home just minutes later. They turned on her too — but she fought with everything she had. Bloodied, terrified, she made it into the house and locked herself in, calling for help. It was chaos. Security teams arrived. They couldn’t find Jan at first — he was so bloodied and still, they didn’t recognise him as human. Eventually, they found his broken body crumpled in the storeroom, barely breathing. He was rushed to hospital, face destroyed, bones shattered. He will undergo reconstructive surgery to his skull. But he lived. And that alone is a miracle. --- AND STILL THE PRESIDENT SAYS: “THERE IS NO GENOCIDE HERE.” Ramaphosa and his cadres, like cowards behind microphones, still repeat it: “There is no genocide here.” “There is no crisis here.” “There is no problem here.” LIARS. How many more must bleed before the ANC opens its eyes? How many pensioners must be slashed, mutilated and left to die like dogs before the world admits what’s happening? These are not “isolated incidents.” These are part of a pattern — a wave — a plague of racially and politically motivated attacks that are being downplayed, buried, and denied. And where is the media? Where is the outrage? Where are the celebrities who scream for “human rights” when it suits their brand? Donald Trump saw it. He said: > “From all evidence, the farmers in South Africa are being treated brutally... and it’s been reported, and nobody wants to cover it... South Africa’s out of control.” He’s right. And for saying so, they called him a “racist.” But the truth doesn’t need permission to exist. --- WE POST THIS WITH A TREMBLING HAND AND A SHATTERED HEART To Jan and Antoinette Jurgens, and to every other family destroyed by these attacks: We are sorry. We are so sorry. That the world is blind. That your blood is ignored. That your suffering is inconvenient to the global narrative. We do not post this for views. We post it because your pain must be heard. --- DISCLAIMER This article contains true, graphic, and deeply disturbing descriptions of violent assault. These events occurred in May 2025 near Mbombela, South Africa. The details are not exaggerated. They are confirmed by local media, security responders, family accounts, and hospital staff. The purpose of this post is not to incite hatred, but to awaken conscience. To honour the victims and expose the evil that thrives in silence. If this makes you uncomfortable — good. It should. --- TO THE WORLD: THIS IS A PLEA. Stop turning away. Stop quoting statistics while bodies lie shattered. Stop hiding behind "history" while pensioners are hacked with pangas. Speak. Share. Shout. Because if we stay silent — we become accomplices. Because the soil is soaked now. And South Africa is screaming.

BREAKING: Finance Minister Enoch Godongwana sends a scathing letting to Jhb Mayor, Dada Morero. Some key issues / concerns from Treasury: “The adjustments budget was assessed by National Treasury to be unfunded; revenue collection was overstated while expenditure was understated” “The understating of expenditure will mostly result in unauthorised expenditure by June 2026 which will put further financial strain on the municipality.” “The outstanding amount owed to creditors has increased from R17 billion in 2022/23 to R25.2 billion in 2024/25.” “The city’s cash and cash equivalent of R3.9 billion in 2024/25 is insufficient to repay outstanding creditors of R25.2 billion.” “This is a marker of severe financial distress, indicating that the city does not have the liquidity required to pay its creditors.” Read the full letter below ⬇️

From time to time I want to remind my followers, I make shitty calls and analysis. Of course we retweet and flaunt our right calls, but hardly ever our wrong calls. And of course some ppl will rub in my mistakes, but hey that is the nature of social media! You get praised, you get booed. Can’t have one without the other. With that said, as long as your intention is true and you try your best, keep at it. Even if wrong. I’m still learning as I go myself. Keep your head up. -Heis
