1️⃣ Customer activation
Follower count isn't as relevant here -- it's more about turning your real life customers into advocates.
Like walking case studies.
So look at your list of customers and pick out who have had the most success with you.
Then incentivize them to become an "influencer" or an advocate for you.
Incentivizing them can be paying them a commission based on every referral they get you, or paying a monthly retainer to help your business out.
2️⃣ Influencer activation
This means using actual influencers - but this requires them to use your software or service.
If they try it out and like it, this is a huge unlock because you'll gain access to their audience that is big and/or trusted.
So either turn your customer into your influencer or use influencers to channel their audience.

This has changed significantly over the last couple years.
A lot of marketers are relying solely on Google ads and SEO to drive pipeline to their business.
But ask yourself -- what do YOU do when looking for a service provider?
You were most likely asking your community or your friend group their thoughts, and searching on social media on who recommended X service provider.
I promise you -- it's the same as your potential buyers.
So you need to turn your customers into advocates that WANT to recommend you.
For whichever reason - whether it's because you've been incredibly beneficial to them, they're incentivized to do so, etc.
Make your customers your advocates so potential buyers can look your company up on socials and see what people are saying.
It's a huge unlock.

Pre-built templates for cash flow — yay or nay?
We just launched a template of OUR G Sheet cash flow tracker for you guys to use and implement for your own business (link to access below)
And I was asked in a previous post if they’re sufficient for all business scenarios, or is customization often required…
One of the disclaimers in our template is exactly that — CUSTOMIZE!
What we did is create a baseline for what every business should be including in their cash flow model.
A kickstarter if you will — that saves you an incredible amount of time so you don’t have to make it from scratch.
The more you customize, the better it’ll be for your business.
We’ve outsourced and automated our cash window by using Upcouting who’re the ones that created this template for those who need it.
They’ve incorporated different plugins that pull data from Triplewhale and Shopify which is where all our ad spend and revenue data lives.

Even if your company is profitable – you still need a comprehensive and clear cash window.
Just bc you’re not predicting any runway or burn, you still need it when it comes to making investments and key decisions for your business.
Like BFCM, for example…
If you need to stock up on a ton of inventory, you need to know if you have enough cash to do so.
❓If you do, what’s your budget?
❓If the budget is X on inventory, how much do we have for ad spend?
❓If we’re financing ad spend on these terms, how does that impact cash?
To do this properly especially if you’re starting out, it can be incredibly difficult.

Every time I see B2B founder’s content – something in me dies
Ok joking joking…but I do see a lot of people’s content that just doesn’t sound like a real person.
Because of what we do at @GaaSForSaaS in helping SaaS tools market themselves in a more approachable/personable way, a lot of our client meetings surround these questions:
What do I post?
How do I make it related to the B2B software/service that I’m selling?
How do I make my content stand out?
So it’s time we address it
But this is a huge topic that needs a few parts – so let’s focus on the first.
🧠Re-framing your mindset
Let me be clear: you ≠ product/service; your product/service ≠ you
While your goal is to get leads, ONLY talking about your product/service is not going to get you anywhere.
Tbh that’s probably why you’re not achieving your goal.
🔑 People buy from people…and people follow people
So following someone who’s too professional and putting out content like everyone else? Unfollow.
So this is basically step 0 for what do you post: you don’t need to “create” content to build a personal brand.
Whatever you’re talking to your friends or family about regarding your company and your day to day and what you face as you build – tell the internet too.
✅Document and show a reflection of who you are and what you’re building on the internet.
✅Reframe your mindset to understand that showing an inauthentic side of yourself (i.e. too professional) or not having any opinions whatsoever can be smelled from far away
