The truth about why we say "we won"...
...and "they lost."
It has almost nothing to do with sports.
And everything to do with identity.
With the World Cup captivating millions of fans around the world, it's the perfect time to talk about one of the most fascinating mechanisms in human psychology.

One of the most confusing things a child can witness:
A parent preaching scarcity one day. Spending freely the next.
No explanation. No pattern. Just chaos.
So the child doesn't learn a lesson.
They learn a feeling.
And that feeling becomes how they handle money twenty years later: the guilt, the swings, the avoidance, without ever connecting it back to that room they were standing in.
What are you still teaching without knowing it?

We choose our reality with our attention.
Two people, same bad day at work, same traffic jam on the way home.
One lets it eat him alive. Curses at every car, flips off whoever cuts him off, walks in the door still carrying the fire from work.
The other treats the traffic like a gift. Time to breathe, let the day settle, walk in and actually see his spouse and kids instead of dumping his stress on them.
Same traffic. Same bad day. Different focus. Different reality.

It also gets passed down from generation to generation.
It can show up in your life as self-sabotage, toxic relationships, financial struggles, health issues, and cycles of failure.
Here's what the research says about transgenerational trauma (& how to heal from it):
